GabrielParticipantHi all, new user here, just got my download, Very impressed so far. Was going to pick up Studio One for my laptop but this just may do the trick.
One thing I noticed, I tried to import some MP3 files but they aren’t showing up in the browser (only wav files). Is this one of the limitations of the free version?
So far it looks great !

ZynewaveKeymasterHi Gabriel,
It’s not a limitation of the Free version. Currently, only wav and aiff file formats are supported. In the future I’ll most likely extend this with .flac and .mp3 support.

druidParticipantYou’ll likely include .flac support??
=P~
That’s awesome for me since my entire music collection is in .flac, and also to save space I like to use lossless compression where possible. I admit I use WavPack format for music stuff and .flac for playback (I believe WavPack has better compression and I don’t need it to decompress as fast – last time I looked, anyway). But still, it is a boon!

KlempererParticipantI am a bit behind the news concerning Podium, and just wanted to ask if flac-support is still planned, or even “already in”? I would profit much from flac and mp3 support. I know, additional hard drives are not too expensive nowadays, but well, throwawayism and “buy and buy and buy again” is not the best argument in our times :), and flac reduces the size of files superb, isn’t it 🙂

InfinitoarParticipantGabriel, until Frits[A.K.A. Zynewave] can include the feature of .MP3 exporting[among other formats] I suggest you use Audacity and download the .LAME encoder for Audacity and other plugin extensions for Audacity to suit your encoding. Podium only does .WAV so export it to that then drag and drop into Audacity and then re-export in Audacity to the format you wish to do it in. It’s what I do. Hope that helps.

HogaczParticipantI’m also waiting for flac support both for media events and export.

kim_otcjParticipantOkay, this is an old thread, but I thought I’d give everyone a heads-up on this topic. The last time I tried to get the lame library for use in Audacity off the internet, the installer was trying to mess me around — trying to install toolbars behind my back, and that sort of thing.
So I switched over to using Any Audio Converter, which can handle both mp3s and FLAC:
