Hi there,
Some more newbie questions… 😉
I have 3 vocal tracks and I want each track to have separate Compression and EQ settings.
The compression must kick in first on each vocal track with EQ following.
Now my question is, does each vocal track need to be wrapped in two tracks for each FX?
As in vocal track one needs Compression and EQ, so I create a group track for the vocal track, which has a compression plug on it which flows upwards towards another second group track which has an EQ plug in it…correct?
Is there any other way to create track FX in Podium without having to create a group track for the FX? For instance, dragging an insert FX directly to the track without having to create a group track?
If this is not possible then to save time I will have to simply create a detailed template and save that. No big deal really.
I have to say creating a group track is a more visual way of doing it as you can clearly see the flow of audio up the Podium tree so to speak. 8)
I guess I am just trying to make sure I understand the Podium way of doing things.
➡ So are FX only added to a track by wrapping an instance of the FX around a track?
➡ Also is there a limit to the number of FX a single track (wrapped around another) can have?

If you want to apply different Comp and EQ to each vocal track, then yes. Enabling the use of multiple plugins on a single track is high on my list, but it will require some careful design and so will take a while before it is implemented.

Yes.

You can drag mappings onto the bottom blank area of the tracks region to add a new track with the plugin. Dragging a mapping to insert between tracks is not possible yet, but I will be working on that later on.
So are FX only added to a track by wrapping an instance of the FX around a track?
Yes, but it is only necessary if you have mappings further down the hierarchy that is feeding the effect. Tracks with audio events can have the effect mapping assigned directly on the track.
Also is there a limit to the number of FX a single track (wrapped around another) can have?
The engine can handle any number of cascaded effects. The UI limits the maximum track group level to 9.
Brilliant Frits, thanks. 🙂
😀 you can also try CONSOLE Demo and see if it help , i think so

Thanks Francois but I am the same guy who suggested you try it in this thread! 🙂

I have used Console for over a year. 😉
A minor issue with Console not recalling a preset name but recalling the preset state can be found here…

Not a show stopper at all, but for whatever reason Console or Podium could not recall the preset name if created within Podium.
More detailed explanations can be found within the thread link above. As you appear to have the demo, the discussions in the thread may help you determine if you will buy it or not. It works perfectly well but can’t seem to communicate with Podium…yet anyway. 8)
😀 ok, sorry , but do you have the same problem i mentioned about the “dry audio” when using console?
