EDIT: Oops #-o . Instead of creating a new 2.20 preview topic, I accidentally edited this 2.19 with the 2.20 changes. I’m afraid I can’t restore the 2.19 post, but you have the 2.19 release topic if you want to see the list of changes.
I’m sure this update was bored to program π
I had problems with Maxx Claster plugins, PoiZone and Toxic Biohazard. I had them uninstalled some time ago because I didn’t use them, so I don’t know if this could happen in other Podium versions. And I read that some people had problems with their plugins. I only tried with Podium 2.18 and 2.19b1.
The problem is with my PCR300 modulation wheel. It sends CC10 to PoiZone or Toxic Biohazard, and their modulation wheel works nice. But in the moment I tweak the mod wheel, the panning of the synth changes!! If CC10 = 1 then I only hear by left channel (or right? I cannot remember) and if CC10=127 then I only hear by right channel (or left?). However the pan fader of the mixer is always centered.
This happens with demo versions also, since for have full version you only need use a *.reg that you get when buy them.
I tried loading these plugins in Orion with those plugins also, but I haven’t this problem.
I don’t know if this is a problem of the plugins or Podium.
Thanks you π
Aww, poor Frits… have yourself a cookie or two, now that it’s over! π
The problem with Synth1 is gone, so thank you, and great work as always!

β’ Added “enable recording of VST plugin MIDI output” option to the preferences. This option is by default off.
Works great here. I have tested it with Drumazon and Nepheton from D16. They support MIDI out since the latest version. Any chance for implementing this?

Because the new versions can also sends pattern and instrument names to the host.

CC10 is the ‘default’ for pan like CC07 is the ‘default’ for volume. CC01 is normally used for the modulation wheel. I did a test here with Poizone in Podium and Reaper and it pans on CC10. So it looks like a plugin issue. But I think you can reassign the CCs of the plugins.

ok thanks you swindus. I didn’t know the “default” CC, except CC01. Problem solved π

For the users that have reported problems with plugins in the 2.18 release: To test if the changes to the UAC build options in this beta has fixed the problems, you need to copy the beta exe to the program files/zynewave folder, and run it from there.
Well done Frits, my Guru problems are now fixed π =D>
Regarding the file location, do you mean “program files/zynewave” as opposed to “program files/zynewave/podium”? I tried it in both locations and it worked either way.
Mart.
To me, first run was totally crash one. I need to restart my computer. Dunno what happen π But on second run everything works fine.
Edit, i play my song and while PLAYING i push power off button and podium crash. Here is what it give me.
AppName: podium.exe AppVer: 2.19.0.0 ModName: battery 3.dll
ModVer: 3.0.4.1 Offset: 0044671e
Dear Frits. Is it possible to get option to shortcut TAB button to open and close mixer? Similar in ableton?

I prefer to wait with this, until I start on a update of the drum map editor.

Doesn’t matter where, only it should be in the Program Files folder tree to make UAC kick in.

Without more clues, it’s difficult for me to guess what could have caused that. In all my tests here, I have not experienced crash at startup.

I have tried the Battery3 demo, and I get no crash with that. Does the crash happen every time you switch off power?

At some point in the future, I’ll implement user customization of key shortcuts. At that point it would be possible to add support for this. In the standard configuration however, the tab key is used to rotate key focus between the available editor panels. The F7 key can be used to open/close the mixer.
Beta2:
I have been profiling the CPU usage when doing long multi-channel recordings (+1 hour), and as a result I have been able to optimize the UI drawing of waveforms. You should see a considerable speed improvement (especially when recording audio), if you have a lot of waveforms on the screen simultaneously.
I have a few more areas I’m going to optimize, and then hopefully release 2.19 next week.
This is tedious work. Once 2.19 and my planned changes for 2.20 is done, I’ll need to do some fun UI stuff to recharge my batteries. π

Sounds very nice! π May i ask do you have any ideas what you going to do? I think adding button like “E” or “FX” on mixer to open new little window where you can add effects would be nice. Now, when you have lot’s of fx’s its kinda stupid to scroll up and down all the time.

Thanks you Frits. I can imagine this is a though work because it seems that Podium don’t change so much, thanks you! I have some GUI suggestion for 2.20 [mixer strip colors] π

I have a lot of features I would like to implement for 2.21 and the following releases, but I have not decided on what to start with yet.
