am i in some kinda ignore list?
Since the max resolution that YouTube ever uses the image is 60 px, you can just resize the original yourself, upload that and you’ll have a picture with smooth edges! At least in the bigger one… I don’t think it’s noticable in the small 36 px image anyway.

thcilnnahoj… 🙂
I think at some point or another each of us have found ourselves on the other side of what seemingly everyone else wants. It just showcases how differently we like to work and how Podium can accommodate different workflows… As for 2.20…maybe some sort of optional behavior can be suggested to suite your workflow?
The editor bar is an optional element that can be placed in any toolbar. As long as thcilnnahoj does not use the “load default setup” command, his old setup behaves exactly as before, with key shortcuts and all.
Here’s a question to everyone: How is your personal workflow going to be like now – will you switch over from the Tracks page to the Editor and Mixer page only when you need them
Likely. Very likely here. I would not mind the Big transport visible all the time though…
Well, then just modify the bottom transport toolbar(s) in the “editor” and “mixer” profiles to match the “big transport” toolbars, delete the “tracks” profile, rename “big transport” to “tracks” and move it to the start of the list.

I don’t think resizing my 256×256 image in my paint program to 60×60 will provide a smoother image than the image resize algorithm applied by YouTube. I don’t know how they store the images, but if YouTube creates both the 60×60 and 36×36 images based on the image I upload, it’s better that I upload a hires image.

If you refer to your earlier comment that I should “now move on mixer and how it handle plugins”, then I’m sorry to disappoint you. Changing the mixer layout is a big task that will take a long time. It does not qualify as a simple “UI improvement”, which is what I’m concentrating on in this release.

I mean in general. I have using lots of time to make some videos and so on. No one doesnt say anything, not even you.
Too bad.. maybe in 2.21 then?
To round up 2.20 I’ll go over the suggestions made in this topic again. Thanks for the suggestions, although I should have specified that I was looking for suggestions to improve the first-hand UI experience for new users, as per the recent discussion in the VIP lounge. Suggestions for improvements to the piano roll, mixer, docked plugin editors etc. will have to wait for a release that deals with those areas specifically.

Not in 2.21. I cannot say when I’ll get round to working on the mixer. What you have been suggesting in the various topics will take months of work, and I have other stuff on my todo list that have a high priority.
Yep, and then you wonder why podium doesnt sell. Good luck!

Well, we all have different priorities. I’m comfortable with the mixer as it is even though it probably isn’t perfected just yet. There are other things I’d like Frits to give attention to first, but I’m not going to make a big deal about it – all in good time 🙂
Mart.

Cool. Does that solve your earlier problem/request thcilnnahoj? Looks like it does.

Ok cheers I’ll try that out. 8)

Yes i talking about priorities. I’m not saying that new mixer will bring new customers, but certainly help in that case. It is just really stupid and annoying way. Its okay if you use like 1-3 plugins pers track, but when you use 5-10 it is nightmare. Seriously.
I dont think that adding button like lets say E and then recycle fx’s that way would be such a big thing to do.. Or what i know, i am just a disappointed customer..

I think YouTube resizes every image you upload to 88×88, so a higher resolution wouldn’t help. However, this image is resized again by the browser (with a lousy algorithm, at least in Firefox, and I’m sure in IE too) because the YouTube html page says that the image should be displayed at a size of 60×60.

Ahem, allow me to quote myself! I would like to always use new features, but this one time it’s just not practical for me. No worries! 🙂

Of course I can always keep my old setup, but I’d like to go with the times, and also I’m concerned about an easy-to-use workspace for new users that don’t know about the extensive customization abilities of Podium. It seems not near as well thought-out as it could be… I hope you don’t take it the wrong way.

I know I can keep my old setup, but I want to voice my opinion that with this new setup, at least the F keys might get a little impractical to use (for people who do use them). And I hope that Frits can appreciate all comments, positive and negative. 😆
Found a bug related to window updates:
With the Timeline editor open create a new MIDI event and immediately expand it by keeping the mouse button held and dragging right. The editor will only show the segment that was created before resizing.
Hi everyone,
I just want to add my two cents:
I think the new editor bar is a great addition as it provides a much better approach to the powerful profile feature. I’m enjoying it 🙂
I have to admit that the mixer could really need an overhaul. The mixer is a very important tool in a DAW but currently the PDM-mixer lacks some useful feature like mono/phase switch and has some UI-related (plugins, visualization of the signal flow, coloring) problems. Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m sure Frits is aware of these things and I really don’t want to stress him. I have never been disappointed with the ongoing development! These things just take some time.
As previously said: It would be nice to see these global SMR and “Add Track” buttons in this release but I’m not sure if these are “small features”. I just fell in love with the neat mockups 🙂 By the way: I’ve never seen “mute groups” in any other DAW. I guess this could be an outstanding PDM feature but this is surely a big thing to work on.
@Frits: The version-wise youtube video is a really useful addition for newbies. They could be used as tutorial if they are done right. Maybe you can add some vocals? Or the community could do these videos too. I would try this.[/img]
