This release continues the work on revising the project file management.
The fact that the plugin scanning is done as a step on the New Project page has often been confusing for new Podium users. In this update the plugin database management is now handled on its own separate project page. There is a new ‘Plugin Database’ item in the Setup menu, which is a shortcut to opening the plugin database project. The project page for the plugin database project has a new panel containing the database configuration that in previous Podium versions was found on the New Project Page. As a result the New Project page has been simplified and the plugin database will automatically be loaded into new projects.
Note that these changes purely affect the way that the plugin database is presented and managed in the UI. The underlying database structure is not changed, so it is still possible to have different plugin setups per project.
Beta1 is available on the My Downloads page. I’d appreciate any feedback on whether this design change is a step in the right direction.
