Malcolm JacobsonParticipantHi Frits,
I am trying to setup a Podium template for an external hardware effect – a Weiss Gambit EQ1. As part of this template I would like to be able to do a sysex dump to Podium of all of the snapshots in the EQ.
When I record a dump from the EQ data appears to be recorded (although the event has the title “Unrecognised Manufacturer”) but when I try to save the Project I get an error message “Could not save file
.pod”. If I then try to play back the part of the sequence that contains the sysex dump, Podium crashes.
Is there a specific procedure to follow when recording / playing back sysex dumps?
Cheers,
Malcolm.

ZynewaveKeymasterIn your arrangement editor: Make sure the timeline is zoomed out to max, and then switch to the “event list” editor profile. You should see all the SysEx events with more details here. Tell me how many SysEx events there are, and the min and max size of the events.

Malcolm JacobsonParticipantSwitching to the Event List crashes Podium.
I am able to successfully capture and transmit the Weiss sysex dumps using MIDI-OX. I can send you a copy of one of those files if it would help solve the bug.
Cheers,
Malcolm.

Yes, please send the file.
When you recorded the SysEx in Podium, did it result in only one SysEx event or a set of consecutive SysEx events?

Malcolm JacobsonParticipantEmail sent.
When I try to record the SysEx in Podium it creates one parameter lane with what appears to be many consecutive (or overlapping) events.
Cheers,
Malcolm.

ZynewaveKeymasterTo be able to test your .syx file, I implemented support for dragging .syx files onto tracks. Coming up in release 2.04.
I could not provoke a crash with your syx file. I tried recording a sysex dump from my AN1x synth, and I found no problem here either. I’m thinking the crash problem must be related to how you have set up your devices/tracks. Please send me a project file saved just prior to the point where you would start recording the sysex.

Malcolm JacobsonParticipantHi Frits,
I’m happy to report that the changes you made for 2.04 have solved the crash problem I was having when recording SysEx dumps from the Weiss. Record and playback now works perfectly. Thanks for your help! 🙂

This is great!
Now that you’ve implemented drag and drop for .syx files, could you add them to the list of recognised files for the “List” window?
Cheers,
Malcolm.
