ZsoltParticipantHi, I recently purchased Podium and apparently I haven’t tested all my plug-ins with it first, so that’s why I have to post this question now. 🙂
If anyone has Rayspace, could someone please help me figure this out? When I import the plug-in into the project, under mappings, I get the following: Rayspace IN, Rayspace OUT 1+2, Rayspace OUT 3, Rayspace OUT 4, Rayspace OUT 5+6.
The problem is, no matter which mappings or combinations I try, I just can’t get this to work. I tried with send etc. every possible way I could think of, but it just isn’t working for me.
I admit I’m fairly new to Podium, but I was able to figure out everything else and let’s face it, how hard could this be, when it works well and instantly in every other host? Thanks in advance,

swindusParticipantThere is a file called RaySpace_Stereo.dll which is the standard stereo version of Rayspace. Use this instead of the surround version. Download here if needed: http://www.quikquak.com/downloads.html

But you are right the surround version does not work for me too but I never used it so far. I don’t think that this is a Podium Problem. Maybe you should send an email to the developer as he is already fixing some stuff:

acousmodParticipantFor all plugins that have more than 2 inputs / outputs, you have to manually convert them to multichannel :
– right click
– select New multichannel insert mapping
– delete the mapping with #1I hope that Podium will do it automatically some day or at least ask the question when importing…

ZsoltParticipantThanks for the help guys; never thought of checking the QuikQuak page itself, there hasn’t been any update for a while and I thought there was only one version. I’ll be more thorough next time 🙂

It’s strange really IMO Podium has a real weakness when it comes to plug in handling. Certain aspects of Podium lead to far too much guessing and needless head scratching for such an obviously refined product. Strange. 😕 I say that as a heavy user of Podium. Talk less of new users.

Yes agreed 100%. Podium needs to interact (provide more info to a user) and do away with the manual process we have for certain types of plugs, and plug ins in general. The current process for plug in handling in general is far behind other hosts.
Working with drums could also be much easier. I would not have said these things 3 months ago even, but I think Podium has definitely now reached a level of maturity where a standard process for plug in handling that can be found elsewhere in other hosts should at least now be present in Podium.
While Frits only has one set of hands the harsh reality is that comparisons will always be made with other product standards, work flows and features elsewhere. I think that is a good thing for a Product trying gain market share. There is no point being a clone of another product, but plug in handling processes elsewhere really are something to look at to address current problems in this area.
That is pretty much my only (and major) stumbling block with an otherwise superb product offering at the moment.

acousmodParticipantDon’t complain, the “New multichannel insert mapping” command has not always been here ! 😉
And I suppose that even if Podium is by far the best DAW for multichannel editing, most of users don’t bother about this…
But yes, it is paradoxal that it is the only one that needs to do something special before to use this kind of plugs.October 18, 2007 at 16:06 #11070
ConquistadorParticipantThe main drive of my comments were more to do with Automapping really anyway acousmod. AFAICT I have only run into the multichannel issue with Voxengo’s Overtone so it is a problem but just not the main issue I have right now.
Complain? I think my comments are more of a balanced observation than a complaint or rant. I think if a post remains constructive and to the point, then even a constructive but critical comment is a good thing. 🙂

I know, it was ironic…
