anfmusicParticipantHey Frits!
It’s been a while but I’m still around. Podium is looking and running great. In fact, I’ve had to learn and use Pro Tools for the Recording School we started, but I prefer Podium hands down. Though I’m handcuffed teaching on the Pro Tools platform for the school, I’m using Podium for my own and my client’s projects. The only thing that is glaringly missing, and would fill so many gaps in for many users, is Re-Wire support. I’ve got clients working in Reason, Acid, Giga Studio (all of which I own and use); and to be able to Re-Wire those apps into Podium would be a God send. I know you’ve got a lot on your plate, but implementing Re-Wire would open a whole new world for existing and prospective users, and remove just about all of the limitations that people may currently find with Podium. Hope all is going well…AL

ZynewaveKeymasterHi Alphonse, good to hear from you again.
Your request is noted. There are indeed a couple of features that are higher on my list, but I’ll look into Rewire at some point.

papawillowParticipantI have been experimenting with Elevayta’s Stream Boy as a Rewire Replacement and it seems to work well. Give it a try.

ConquistadorParticipantWhile not exactly the same thing as full Rewire functionality I can at least use FL as a rewire bridge to get Reason 3’s output into Podium. π

PodianerParticipantJust a reminder.. π I can remember Frits saying that he tried to contact Propellerheads for a ReWire license, but the never responded.. They actually did to Justin, who develops Reaper. I think, he also tried a few times. Perhaps the people from Propellerheads need more encouragement π hehe.. I don’t know how hard a ReWire implementation would be, but it would highly push Podium’s sells, imo.
As I said, just a little reminder π

I agree. 8)
I think even if it really does take a very long time (I can only guess of course) it is an expected feature in any host now. I think in a strange way Frits, Podium’s current feature set is just so good and well implemented that I think many will simply assume it has rewire already. π
I think it is on the future map anyway but as Podianer said…a little reminder. Thankfully I still have a workaround -ish, for now but rewire in Podium? Well that would be another huge selling point surely. π
I am sure you have set structure for certain forthcoming features, so just consider our reminders as two small nudges and two winks π
FWIW the pace and implementation of features so far has been just right IMO, which is even more remarkable for a single developer!

+1!!

PodianerParticipantI think Frits is getting tired of us requesting this! π

LarakaParticipantHi
I’m trying out the Podium demo at the moment. I’m looking at alternatives to upgrading Cubase. Reaper and Podium are the ones that are appealing to me.Just to add my +1 to this thread: Rewire support would be important to me.
Thanks

ConquistadorParticipantI suspect many potential buyers of Podium already use rewire and would consider it an essential feature before considering Podium as a host. Of course not everyone needs rewire but there is definitely a good number of potential customers out there who already have one of the following applications…
1. Reason
2. Ableton Live
3. Acid Pro
4. Project 5
None of which will work as a plugin (like FL studio or Phrazor) so it’s rewire or nothing. Only rewire will link these applications with Podium.
I think many potential users will not stop using any of the applications listed above if they buy Podium. I think many will wait for rewire instead.
I think it is on the future list anyway so with the co – operation of Porpellerhead (I read they were not that responsive to Justin the Reaper developer) it will arrive at some point in Podium. π
I think Propellerhead eventually got back to Justin (Reaper developer) so Reaper does have rewire now.
