kagemushaParticipantHi,
I have strange problem with the latest Podium release. I missed a few releases so I don’t know when it appeared.
After a HD crash I reinstalled everything but podium doesn’t record properly. Everything is setup right but when I record audio, there are gaps in the file. It seems that everytime the region is redrawed -to update the waveform- a gap is occuring in the audio file (no audio) >> it seems to occur with a metric regullar intervalsee http://www.ciclic-records.org/temp/gaps.gif
Is it me?
Is it Podium?
Ideas?
Thanks

ZynewaveKeymasterHi Eli,
Are the gaps approximately 1024 samples wide? If you change the latency setting on your soundcard, does the gaps change?
– ASIO sample position gaps: 1 (1024)
This entry concerns me. It means the ASIO driver jumped forward in time, which could explain the gaps in your recording. The report you listed was only measured for 14 seconds. If you measure over a longer period, such as the time taken to record the sound in your screenshot, does the gaps count increase then?

kagemushaParticipantHello Frits,
The gaps are arround 9000 samples wide. I copied some gaps in Audition into a new file and they where each arround 9270 and 9400 samples long.
Changed the buffer to 2048 but it doesn’t change the gaps’ lenght or frequency
The recording above was in linear recordingmode. so i could not change tempo. I tried to record in musical mode and I notice that the gaps appears every time the region is updated (becoming longer) >> so in musical mode it’s every bar. If i change tempo and open the file in Audion you can clearly see that with a lower tempo the file has a longer wave before a gap occurs
see here for the synchronity with the mesures and gaps

It seems it has to do with the redrawing of the region or interface
😕I have this problem only in Podium. I had to reinstall a lot of drivers etc but everything else seems to work fine. I read you changed some code for the responiveness of the screen in this release 1.36 > i have a hunch there is something wrong there

Wathever lenght I record, the gaps are reoccuring every bar or region update. They don’t change in frequency or interval.

ZynewaveKeymasterIt appears to be happening when the audio event is extended by the recording. If you start by dragging the size of the audio event to the desired length of the recording, and then start recording, does the gaps appear then?
July 22, 2005 at 13:58 #5122
kagemushaParticipantI was just trying that one and indeed there are no gaps when the audio event is drawed in advance.
As I do a lot of multtrack recording, and, because it became possible a few release ago to record without drawing the region, I just start recording without drawing the region.Eli

ZynewaveKeymasterOk, I’ve managed to recreate the bug on my system now. I’ll fix this for the next release. I’m sure this has worked before, so it could be a bug introduced with the latest release. Thanks for reporting it.

kagemushaParticipantOk, Thanks.
