I have Podium 1.77CM and have a problem with USB MIDI devices.

Setting up the USB Midi works fine – the MIDI input interface states “USB MIDI”.

If I use Podium without the device connected, I get an error to say that the devices are not connected. The MIDI input interface now changes to ““.

I connect the device back in and restart Podium and the MIDI input interface has “” selected, but also has “USB MIDI” listed. Playing the keyboard doesn’t work until I manually change the setting to “USB MIDI”. This is a pain if you have 16 (or more) inputs to manually change. (I have over 50 to update each time if I want to use channel specific messages).

Is there an option to help me here or has this been corrected since the CM release?

Please send me a copy of your Podium.ini file, and if possible also your project file. That may give me a clue why your MIDI interface isn’t recognized.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have figured out when it loses the settings.

If I save the project and the MIDI interface is not plugged in, then Podium marks the relevant devices as unavailable in the saved file (which they are unavailable).

The problem is when you plug the MIDI interface back in, then open Podium, they are still left marked as unavailable (even though they are now available).

This seems to happen in any project and with any interface that is removable.

I tried simulating this with my interface but I could not recreate the problem. I’m testing with 1.77 CM.

To figure out what the problem is, I need you to send me your Podium.ini file and a small project file, saved with the incorrect MIDI interface names.

I think the problem mainly lies with the controller keyboard drivers.

Somehow Podium doesn’t seem to like that the drivers are sometimes installed and sometimes not because they are not signed through microsoft. I’ve changed some Windows settings to allow all non-signed drivers by default and the problem seems to have disappeared!
