Interesting. New look Podium. I suppose it is somewhat consistent with the massive changes that have taken place in Podium since the currrent splash screen first appeared.
I’m currently writing about the project start page in the guide, and the “getting started” pages will be updated as well. Having the guide in the wiki section will hopefully make it easier for me to keep the guide updated. When I eventually fill out the remaining chapters, my goal is to keep it updated on every release.
Good plan.
You’re all welcome to edit the wiki. If you’re afraid to touch the Podium guide, then you could consider writing tutorials describing how you work with Podium. This way you could get feedback on the tutorials in the forums with suggestions on how to improve the workflow.
He he, I think the Podium guide is a pretty big deal. I certainly do not want to mess that up ๐ I really like the idea of tutorials and have a few in mind. I will probably start with that and then progress to the Podium guide. 8)
Just a quick update on my efforts with the Podium Guide Frits, of course the 1.71 thread is closed so I think this thread is the next best one to use for a quick update on the PDF I was working on…creating the PDF was pretty straight forward but editing it was another matter. ๐
Far too much work considering the Wiki is already there. A duplication of efforts really. ๐
After shuffling between the Podium Wiki and the PDF Guide it really does seem like the Wiki is the only way to go. 8)
With users having access to sharper images (double clicking once to get a larger image, then another double click again to get the original image as you suggested Frits) it seems much better for users to simply access the Wiki version of the Podium guide instead of the PDF.
The PDF has its uses but the Wiki is much more flexible and easier to manage.
I think I will simply focus on a few tutorials I had in mind for Podium and upload those to the Wiki at some point.
The Wiki is a great idea and is way more flexible than the PDF. ๐

That was what I feared would be the case. As far as editing goes, the Wiki is the simplest solution as I see it. Thanks for your efforts.

Sorry about that Frits.
I agree with you 100% here. You were right. The Wiki is more accessible, editable and as a result a more up to date version of the guide anyway.
I guess it was worth a try (at least) to help out with the PDF but the Wiki is wider and deeper in terms of how it brings your efforts as the developer and other Podium user efforts into one easily accesible place for all. 8)

Bummer! Thanks for the effort though ๐
Unfortunately, as the first post in this thread states, I don’t like reading on the screen, I much prefer paper manuals so I guess I’ll have to continue making my own ๐ฏ 8)

The Wiki guide is already included as a PDF in the Podium installation. What Conquistador tried was just making a more presentable layout with a table of contents etc.
The Podium Guide PDF can be opened (and printed) from the Podium View menu, or through the “Zynewave” group in the Windows start menu.
Ohh..ok ๐ณ
Thanks Frits.
