darcyb62ParticipantAre there any special windows files needed to run Podium?
I can get Podium to run using VMWare Fusion (which has a full XP install being run on a virtual machine), but i can’t get it to run using Crossover (a windows emulator that does not require windows).

ZynewaveKeymasterIf I run Podium 2.09 through a “Dependency Walker” tool, I get this list of dependant system dlls:
winmm.dll
comctl32.dll
version.dll
msimg32.dll
kernel32.dll
user32.dll
gdi32.dll
comdlg32.dll
advapi32.dll
shell32.dll
ole32.dll
msvcp60.dll
msvcrt.dllThese are all standard Windows system libraries. There are also different versions of these, so even though you may have the dll, it could still be an older version that is missing some functions.
Does an error message appear when you try to run Podium?

darcyb62ParticipantI get nothing. It just sends me back to the Crossover install application screen.
When I look at the Crossover wine directory, some of those files are there but are missing.
I am going to bounce a question off the Crossover Support folks and see what they have to say.
It would be pretty cool to get this running on OSX without having to set up a VM session.

kyranParticipantIf crossover is anything like wine (and I think it is the same codebase, but with commercial support), then you can just copy those dll’s from a windows install and drop them into the correct crossover folder.
It only has a 50/50 % chance to work though, due to versioning issues, further dependencies and what not.
I heard reports that podium is running very good through wine on linux (but I didn’t try it yet myself)

darcyb62ParticipantNo luck. Something is still not right. The Crossover support guy thought the likelihood of it working was low.

SpacemanParticipantI never had any problems running audio software in Fusion (well, apart from the latency anyway). It happily ran EnergyXT and Reaper.
I’m considering getting a new license for Podium (sold mine after moving to Mac). I’ll be using it in Bootcamp but I’ll try the demo in Fusion first and using Crossover and report back.
I’m going to try Wine as well

darcyb62ParticipantI’ve had no problems running it under VMWare (or Bootcamp) but thought it would be good to get it running Crossover but have had no luck there.
