I would not risk such pronostics…

The comparison of softwares is always a difficult exercise, which don’t give any benefits if it doesn’t help to improve something.

But you can’t deny the fact, that over at KVR people are following “blindly”, as Darcy pointed out. πŸ˜‰

I agree with what you said about “improving things”. But again, it is a matter of taste. The users will decide for themselves.

Justin and Frits have certainly opposed developpment methods.

I think that Frits is a perfectionnist, who takes all the time that is needed for every feature he adds to be perfectly in place with the others and is fully tested before integrated.
The result is a regular but rather slow progressing, which will give a wonderfull tool for people who can wait and who can accept to do things sometimes with more pain, because they can be confident in the long term.
I must say that for me it is worth the effort !

Yes it is. The tortoise may be slower than the hare but he sees more of the road on his way to completing his latest new feature. πŸ˜†

Having said that I know very little of Justin but he appears to have a pretty good record for fixing bugs. But…he does have a second developer working with him…of course Frits works strictly solo.

I wonder if Frits had a second coder wether he could match Reapers blistering development pace. In any case thankfully I am in no mad rush for new features anyway, just reliability and development consistency.

It’s great to see developers like Frits, Justin, Holger (Phrazor) and Jorgen (EXT) step out and try to offer something different.

I think we all stand to benefit from their continued development.

Of course we can have our host cake and eat it as phrazor and EXT can all be plugged into Podium and I think Justin’s clever Rea Route in Reaper allows for audio to be ferried between Reaper and *any* host if I am not mistaken. So one does not even need to choose between them. πŸ˜‰
