Hi,
I hope that I will success to explain what has happened…
1. I have opened a project on which I’ve worked some time ago, and THE AUTOMATION CURVES ARE NO MORE IN PLACE.
More precisely they run faster than the audio (it seems to be progressive, like when we change the MIDI tempo of a sequence and that the audio remains in place).
This happends for ALL the automation curves in all tracks (Volume or plugins).
The audio runs at the good speed.
This is the screenshot of the old project (a chance for me, it was the one that I had post in this forum) :
And the screenshot of what I see now :
2. I must say that I conserve incremental backups of my projects, and the shifting of the automation curves occurs in all !
The parameters of the project and the files has not changed between the two (48 kHz, same computer, same audio card).
But I have updated Podium from 1.30 to 1.31.
3. I have uninstalled the 1.31 and installed the 1.30 : same behaviour.
4. I have installed the 1.30 version on another computer, loaded the project : ALL IS FINE.
Here is the screenshot (not the same zoom but we can recognize the waveform and the curves) :
So, if I don’t understant what happends, I suppose that it is relevant to the 1.31 version ?
I have not installed the 1.31 on the second computer because actually my project is good on it.
Any idea ???
(I dont’use MIDI in this project)
Thanks !
That is indeed weird. I don’t recall changing anything in 1.31 that should influence this. Could you email me your ‘good’ project file, without the wave files?
On the PC where you went from 1.31 to 1.30, did you save the project with the 1.31 version?
On the PC where you went from 1.31 to 1.30, did you save the project with the 1.31 version?
Yes, but the old and the new ones are OK on the second PC.
You can get the two versions here (I don’t know how to send you a regular email) :

I’ve made some new essais today, I don’t think that it is relative to 1.30 or 1.31, perhaps just a coincidence.
But the projects are always shifted on the PC 1 and OK on the 2, with the same hardware (cardbus RME) with the same settings…
There is certainly a little option somewhere ?

The email-address is listed on the contact page.
When I load your project they appear as in your ‘old’ screendump. If I change the sample-rate in the arrangement properties from 48000 to 44100, then the automation curves will appear like in your ‘new’ screendump. Could you verify that your problematic arrangement is set to 48000? Changing the samplerate will however also scale the audio events, which you say are ok. Are your soundfiles recorded in 48000?
One of my items on the future plan is samplerate conversion. Currently you need to have your soundfiles in the same samplerate as the arrangement is configured to.
Some new facts !
First : thank you for your suggestions, but the files have always been at 48 kHz.
When I open the projects, “old” or “new”, it is made from the same external firewire drive : the two computers use exactly the same projects / files / audio card (two laptops with PCMCIA), set and running at 48 kHz. In the first one, the one on which the projects have been made, the automation curves are shifted (with the two projects), and on the second one the synchro is good (with the two projects too, see below).
The duration of the two projects and the sequences are the same and they are played at the same speed. Only the speed of the curves are different.
If I change the sample rate, it changes the pitch inside the audio sequences but doesn’t change the synchronization with the curves which remains wrong…
But, Second :
I’ve updated the 1.31 (first computer) with the 1.32 and………. the old file, saved with the 1.30 version is well synchronized, but the one that has been saved with the 1.31 is not !
Do you understand something ???
If not, it doesn’t mind for me, since now I can work again.
Thanks for the 1.32 !
Do you understand something ???
Not much I’m afraid. The two project files you linked seemed ok to me. The changes I’ve made for releases 1.30 to 1.32, should have no influence on this. Could you email me the project saved with 1.31 that was causing the problems?
