Hi, sorry to trouble you, but I’m trying to get Podium working with my soundblaster audigy platinum 2, and I’m presented with about 20 outputs on the audio tab, and 7 outputs on the MIDI tab.

I can’t get any sound out of the darned thing, and I’ve changed the sample rate of the track to 48000 hz on the track properties.

    help! 😯
i know that the answer is ‘the outputs are dependant on your soundcard’, but I don’t know which ones! So really, I’m speaking out to the soundblaster users:

could you please tell me what settings you’ve got, cos I don’t know what to select for my MIDI output interfaces.
    They are:

      SB Audigy Synth A [CC00]

      SB Audigy SW Synth [CC00]

      SB Audigy Synth B [CC00]

      SB Audigy MIDI IO [CC00]

Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth [CC00]

      PHECDA MIDI[CC00]

    aaarrgghh!!

Incidentally, I’m using the version that came with Computer Music. 😕

    Hi,

I don’t have an Audigy, but based on the names of the MIDI ports you listed, I’d say that the “SB Audigy MIDI IO” must be the external MIDI connection. I also recommend you don’t select the “Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth” as this may lock the audio output, causing conflicts with the ASIO driver.

blimey! that might be the fastest response to a post EVER!!! 😯

After trying to get the demo tracks working (bear in mind I’m new to VST type stuff) I realised the demos wouldn’t have VSTis mapped to the ones on my OC, so hence no sound. I tried a new song at 48000 and for some reason it worked first time!! bear in mind I’ve been trying for ages to get it to work, and this time it just did! I must’ve had a moment of clarity, or something…

not using MIDI IO, I selected the SB Audigy SW Synth, as I figured I’m not sending MIDI signals to an external MIDI unit.
    That was my logic, anyways!

I still have the Audigy2PlatinumEX installed (because I used to use a soundfont editor that ran only with the card and because my Audiophile 2496 can just record one stereo input or 2 mono, the Audigy has more audio ins).
In case I need it I simply disable the not needed devices in the Podium audio/midi-settings. By the way the Synth A and Synth B devices work here just as good as the one you use (I sometimes load huge soundfonts in an old but much loved midi-editor with the Synth A as default, eg.). As Midi In I got 2 ins with my Audigy, and don’t ask me why, the 2nd is the one that works.

As you got it to work anyway, this isn’t the info you’d really needed, but cheers anyway 😆
