With every sequencer I ever try I have a few GM MIDI files I always try. I know what they should sound like and they allow me to start fiddling around with the editors right away. I noticed Podium does not handle the patches properly then I remembered your post about how MIDI file import was not fixed.
If a lot of people do as I do then you stand to lose a lot of prospective customers right out of the starting gate if this is not working when you release Podium for sale. Because of this I suggest very strongly that you try to get this fixed before release even if it delays release. (did I really say that!) 😥
You also mention some GUI changes to make the note pitches easier to differentiate in piano roll. They are good ideas and I think they really should be at least some of the very first things you do post 1.0 if not sooner. Seems note entry is pretty fundamental to me. You don’t want to fall into the common trap of emhpasising audio mixing so much that MIDI suffers. There are plenty of audio editors out there that would be hard to compete with on that basis purely.
