carlParticipanthey guys i’ve owned podium for about a week and am liking it. i have a question. how do you do volume fade ins and fade outs? also how do you make an automation for panning? i found the automation lane but can’t figure how to use it. i’m used to mixcraft with their little points you can adjust.

ZynewaveKeymasterFor simple fade-in/out, gain and pan, you can drag the handles in the upper left/right corners of each sound event. For precise adjustments, right-click an event and select “sound event properties”.
If you want more advanced curve automation of level and pan, then use the track right-click menu and select “automate parameter > level/pan”. After that you can use the pencil tool (or double click with the select tool) to draw curve sequences and use the curve editor, or you can use the parameter faders in the mixer to create the curve sequences.

ZynewaveKeymasterClicking on the timeline should create a new curve sequence. Click+drag to create and resize. Once you have the curve sequence event, you can draw in the actual curve in the curve editor. Either double-click the event to open the curve editor window, or select the embedded editor profile.

carlParticipantok i have tried everything. i can’t do anything with the pencil tool and i still can’t repeat using the mixer. ther’s no way i can create a volume line in the audio or midi track then create points so i can adjust this? i am truly stumped!!!

ZynewaveKeymasterThere’s a brief explanation of automation here:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:getting_started#automating_parameters
In this screenshot you can see that there are automation track lanes, and also parameter faders in the mixer. The events that are placed on the automation lane are curve sequence events. On this lane you can move/copy/slice etc. the curve sequences. To edit the actual curve you need to open the curve editor. Select a curve sequence event, and then click the “Editor” profile button above the transport toolbar. That should show the selected curve sequence in the editor, and it is here that you edit the point events that define the curve.
If you still encounter problems, then describe how far you are getting compared to the page I linked to above.

greatwilliesParticipantI think for fade in and fade out you should try hall or the stadium effects. If you will do that then you can get the best sound effect from that. No need to make so much changes in that, just select the default sound for that.
