Then, bring a couple of Facebook likes with you.
But, first, I gotta say that I regretted recommending IK Multimedia Custom Shop (it’s explained in another thread). So, this time I’ve waited to see what happens. For the first plugin, I can tell, nothing bad – it just sits on the timeline and you can hide it or even remove it if you want (I don’t think it’s the right thing to do, at least for some time). I’ve just found out about the second one and I’m not sure about that, so see for yourselves.

I picked Retro Equalizer and I really like it. They say it’s API 550A based. Well, it doesn’t have the same frequency centers and boost/cut per band in 2 and 3 db steps, but it has bits of that sound (I’d say like BootEQ, just 5 times cpu lighter, so you guess, you can have as many instances in the mix as you want). And O.K. they say based not modeled after. Anyways, those are not really high-end plugins or something, but some of them are really good, especially Retro eq, comp and limiter (of coarse, you may need or like something else).
The other one looks very interesting, but note, I haven’t downloaded it yet so I can’t tell how good it is or what will happen if you like them:
