this is what i like and hate about podium.

sound quality: best ive heard from any app.

    mixing engine and monitoring: impressive

midi editing: like cubase. it was awful the first time. many people say they hate cubases midi editing functions.

sometimes you have to learn from other developers what works, works for users and is disliked my users. im a firm believer that just because an idea works or is popular one doesnt mean its still the best way of doing something.

ive highlited the best ideas and strengths that “sells a product and distinguishes it from others” as well as determines the outcome of what a person chooses for there host based upon the following great ideas of popular hosts:

podium would be much easier and faster with a simple right click note on left click noter off. why is it better to use the double click way like cubase?

cubase is said to have horible midi editing too and podium uses the same delete key and double click note editing as cubase. just because somthings popular doesnt mean its better. podium could learn alot from the fl studio and expecialy the orion pianoroll. with right click on lefty clcik off, transpose notes up and down by using the up and down keys and page up and down keys ect

podium would realy benefit from a preset editor instead ogf relying upon hot keys to browse presets.

podium shouldnt rely on fast graphics cards( but tbh im just being selfish as its a problem that im having not a problem with podium)

in the manual podium explains things in the assumption that the new user
knows the basics of podium and speaks in technical and operational language instead of simple tutorial form and also have a set of very basic explanatory tutorials about evrything you need to know to use podium accomplish all basic operational tasks. (as done in orion and project 5)

podiums got it right in letting the user change the gui do what they want. (many users will buy a host based on how good or not good the gui is)

podiums way of highliteing the chosen note is very awkward as podiumbases its note highliteing on the assumption that the user knows which note they want when in fact most users need to see which notes there selecting before they can choose them. what i mean is, fl studio when you press a key indents the key/keys to show which notes are being played/inserted.

podium has got it right to to diffrentiate major or minor notes in the pianoroll by use of light and dark colors to for the major and minor notes. as seen in orions pianoroll)

podium should give the user the ability to choose how long they want there
sequence to play for each track (as seen in orion and project 5) instead of using the “set” loop/pattern mode.

also podiums should strech the pianoroll to the end of the edit box. podiums misses valuably screen real estate by limiting how far the user can see while in track prevew view. i think if the pianoroll was streched to the max in track prevew mode, one could do all there editng without ever having to open the pianoroll as a seperate box.

    😯
You can use ctrl+up/down to transpose events, Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down to transpose events in octaves.
    This could be useful: http://www.zynewave.com/guide/guide03_keys.htm

Also: “getting started” tutorial is written very clear IMO.
