Topic: What`s up with Podium developement???

    I´ve looked back the release dates of the last 2 years and usually the break was about 1/2 to max. 1 month…since september it is twice as long and now even longer…

    Is there a special reason for this long period??

    As what I´ve recognized from other products, there were only 2 reasons for such a behaviour:

    1. Something bigger is on it´s way (what I personally hope)
    2. the project is dying…:shock:

    Fritz, what´s up??? You´ve started the preview thread for 2.41 on Dec, 8th, your last post on this topic was the 5th of january, now is the 1st of march!!! 😥

    The forum here is getting quieter and quieter as well…makes me all very sad. I started a topic about zoom snapshots 10 days ago, 69 views, no reply…

    In this thread Frits says he has been busy with other matters not related to Podium. He doesn’t elaborate further, but hopefully things will pick up again soon.

    Well, you asked for it – I just received the first floppy in the mail today! 😉

    All joking aside, I think it’s only fair that Frits keeps his private business, well, private. I trust him enough that he’ll not keep us in the dark for too long on anything related to development.

    Anyway, from a PM I’ve received about a bug, I think it’s safe to say that he is working as we speak.
    May the divine lightning strike me down should I not be allowed to talk about this! 😛

    So… if I can add a little bit of speculation, I think 2.41 is going to contain mostly bug fixes to keep the release schedule rolling, and work on groove quantization will resume thereafter.

    Also, you should be used to this forum being much more quiet than others by now, no? 😉

    Let´s hope, development starts soon again… 8)

    There are a lot of things I still miss in Podium.

    Perhaps it´s a matter of money and we should start a “donate campaign”…

    Podium is still a bargain and I would be ready for anything like this.

    Something big is not on its way, and the project is not dying. Although, in the future I will have less than the 70 hours per week I’ve spent on Podium for the last 5 years. Once I am ready to resume work on Podium, I’ll post about the status. Hopefully the dust settles within a couple of weeks.
