sam cParticipanti lose my vol and pan. is there a way to unassign and keep my vol and pan on the mixer view?
the reason i unassign is, my guitar track 2 might use input spdifL1. later, on track 6 i use spdifL1 for a different guitar….but now i have no vol control on guitar track 2 becuase i unassigned input map??
thanks

ZynewaveKeymasterOpen the track properties dialog, and select the “enable audio mixing” option.

sam cParticipantthat was fast!! thanks. this is a cool program you have developed!
i am getting close to a bounce. i notice you say bounce to master track. i usually bounce to a stereo track my first mix or two before my final mix. this does not create any problems in Podium does it….mixing a total tune to a stereo track instead of the master?

Not sure what you mean here. The sound on the master track is a standard stereo wav file.

sam cParticipantyour Podium guide says, bounce to master out. is it a problem if i simply bounce a mix to a stereo track…as opposed to master out.
here is the quote
If your arrangement is using audio, then you would likely configure the master out track for bouncing. This will enable you to capture the final output of your arrangement into a sound file.

ZynewaveKeymaster“Bouncing the master out track” means capturing what goes out to the audio outputs and recording it to the stereo sound on the master out track. So it’s the same thing.
Check out the wiki videos to see how bouncing works.

sam cParticipanto.k. i watched. but it is very confusing. plus, this is for 7 or 8 ez drummer tracks.
the way i understand is so simple, select each track you want to bounce. arm a stereo track to bounce to. hit enter. now i have a new stereo bounce of the 14 track tune i am working on that includes fx and all automation.
the video is well done but does not at all address showing a 14 or 22 track tune being mixed down to a stereo track. or….did i watch the wrong video?

The principle and procedure of bouncing a plugin track and bouncing the master output is exactly the same. You can insert bounce tracks anywhere in the hiearchy. For the final mixdown of your arrangement you bounce record on the topmost track, which is the master out track.

Are you trying to bounce the multi ez-drummer tracks to a single stereo? If that’s what you are trying to do wrap the ezdrummer tracks into a group track. Bounce enable the track and then bounce the track. You now have a single stereo file for the multi ezdrummer tracks. Keep in mind that when you bounce a group track it is capturing everything in the group.
Think of the master track as an all-encompassing bounce track.

sam cParticipantAre you trying to bounce the multi ez-drummer tracks to a single stereo?
no. not at all. i am almost ready to take 17 tracks and bounce them to a stereo track.

it really is not clear in the video. look how i explained a bounce in two other programs. i’ll do it again…………
select each track you want to bounce (17 in this case). arm a stereo track. hit enter. you now have a new stereo mix of the 17 selected tracks that includes fx and automation.

should i wrap my 17 tracks to a group track?

ZynewaveKeymastershould i wrap my 17 tracks to a group track?
No. You don’t have to record and bounce enable each bounce track as shown in the video. That is only if you have several bounce tracks in your arrangement and want to bounce them all at the same time.
If you used the default arrangement as base for your arrangement, your master track is already bounce enabled (B button shown in the track header) and there is a sound event on the master track, right?
When you want to do a mixdown of your arrangement, you just press Ctrl+B or Ctrl+Click the B button on the master track. This will render your entire arrangement into the sound on the master track. No need to select individual tracks that you want to include in the render.

sam cParticipanti will play around awhile. i am sure i am just struggling with something fairly simple.
on my master track in the default arrangement there is no sound event. only on the tracks i have recorded?

Then just double-click and drag to draw in a new sound. It should stretch the entire length of your arrangement. If the master track does not have the B button, then open the track properties dialog and enable the bounce mode. When this is set up, just try to press Ctrl+B to try it out. I think that will help with understanding how bouncing works.

sam cParticipanti did the bounce to the master track and it was simple. but….i could see the .wav but no sound played. there was a red circle on the mixer saying there was no master. what step did i miss?
