ZynewaveKeymasterI have set up an experimental wiki site:
The site is not yet integrated into the main Zynewave site. If feedback on the wiki site is positive, I’ll spend some time creating a template for it, so that it will look like the rest of zynewave.com.
If you want to edit the wiki, email me or post here, and I’ll set up user accounts.
I’d appreciate any comments and suggestions.

I think that it is a very good thing.I will be happy to contribute in some manner with my modest capabilities.

SerendipityParticipantWow, it’s a..a..baby wiki π― π
That was quick! Hopefully many of the not-so-vocal users or lurkers will chip in here as well. We need you guys and gals. I agree totally with your decision of not spending too much time on integration right now. Let’s see how this plays out first. We need the collective wisdom (and point of view) of the oldtimers as well as the newbies in this wiki since this, among other things, is meant to help lower the learning threshold for new and potential future users.
I have to admit that I don’t have any experience with wiki’s whatsoever π³
Sure, I’ve quickly browsed a few in the past but I’ve never actively participated in one.
I also have to admit my extremely limited experience with Podium – I haven’t even recorded audio with it yet even though I’ve been a license owner for over a year π―
Actually, I haven’t put down any SERIOUS time in a DAW or midi sequencer in the last 4-5 years. I have never used an automated track in my life! So..uh..I’m seriously out of the loop so to speak. However, I’m willing to try to help to the best of my ability so put me up for an account as well.
One tip for our participants would be to check out established (music-daw-midi) wiki’s to see how they’ve done things – and possibly gain from their experience. I know I will.

TechnophobiaParticipantGood idea and quick implementation Frits.
If you could sign me in for a user account, I will try to devote some time to adding info to the Wiki.
I guess that I will first have to devote some time to studying how to use Dokuwiki in the first place though π

PodianerParticipantI’d like to contribute some things, too..

PodianerParticipantπ³ Ok, maybe I am blind and I don’t see it, but how can I change a site? Or how can I create one.. is this feature open yet?

Everyone who requested an account in this topic has been added as users to the Wiki. When I added you as users, I took the email address from your forum profiles, so please verify this address is still valid. You should have received an email with an auto-generated password. On the Wiki site there is a ‘login’ link. Once you have logged in, the ‘edit this page’ link is available.
EDIT: I could even help translating the guide to german.
That would be great, although please wait a while; I’m currently adding images to the pages.
June 17, 2006 at 18:24 #6986
PodianerParticipantI am logged in, but all the pages are marked as “read only” π
EDIT: I get this message
“This page is read only. You can view the source, but not change it. Ask your administrator if you think this is wrong.”

ZynewaveKeymasterTry again now. I had forgotten to grant the correct permissions to the ‘user’ group.

PodianerParticipantok, it works.. I am very much motivated.. And I have nothing to do at the moment. Thus I have just begun to translate the getting started tutorial. But I will wait to put it in, until you have your pictures in.. π
One color scheme is already on its way 8)

PodianerParticipantOk I’ve translated the getting started tutorial into German. Took quite a while because of the length.. The whole guide will take a lot longer, and I hope I am not the only German guy here π
I think the “getting started” is the most important part of the guide as far as attracting new users is concerned. Thanks to you Frits, it is not full of all details. It is even enough to “get started”, although Podium is quite complex! Very well done!
Ok, now I’ll try to put the german version into the Wiki..
June 17, 2006 at 22:29 #6991
PodianerParticipantDone.. 8)
Frits? Could you create the same “tree” for the other guides, that is used for the english version? I just don’t know how to do it.. π³
That’s why the getting started page is the only one there… π

Excellent! I appreciate your help.

Done. I added a short text to the ‘sidebar’ page, with recommendations on how to create the pages. I added this to the French and Spanish guides as well.

PodianerParticipantThanks… π
More translations to come..
