Agreed. I intend to put out a word when 1.10 is released later this week.

    Slightly off topic… what’s coming in 1.10? 😉

Doesn’t have to be a full fledged ‘press release’ but it’s a good community that would probably be interested in the product. Simple alert should be adequate.

I’ve used CONSOLE or FFX4 to get DX effects in VST hosts.

Would key shortcuts to tool selections be a solution?

I sat down last night in my first semi-serious attempt to get work done in Podium. (good news was that it was great!) I think the only thing that stuck in my head was that I constantly wanted to switch between the various tools, which meant I kept having to move over to the tool selection whenever I needed to change tools.

I kept thinking I needed some sort of way to quickly switch toolbar items to move from one bit of functionality to the next. I was actually going to attempt to boil down my workflow in Podium to make a decent suggestion, but I was too busy having fun and experimenting.

I think the only thing that comes to mind at the moment is the ability to resize a track’s height needs the pencil tool… I think that certain ‘action’ should be available in all the tools… it shouldn’t conflict with anything.

Oh, one more thing… I had a bunch of VSTs imported into Podium before you had VST automation via it’s parameters. I’m assuming I need to reimport them… is there a way to automagically rescan them? I figure it would be helpful for updated VSTs and possible updates/changes to Podium itself.

Thanks for the mousewheel support. Helps a lot

Agreed. Podium is very inspirational in it’s approach, and it’s becoming easier to get the job done the more I play with it.

Keep up the good work. 🙂

The demo you can download are fully functional. So if users buy a Podium license now, they hopefully have determined beforehand that Podium will work for them in its current state. Although a lot of features are still missing, I like to think that Podium is a mature program with regards to stability, and I do not feel that I have released Podium prematurely.

Podium in it’s current state has provided me with a creative breath of fresh air. It took a little bit to get my head wrapped around how it works, but it wasn’t too difficult and I’m enjoying the results.

Yes, it’s missing some things and it could have some aspects a bit more polished, but I purchased my license confident that Podium will improve. In fact, I consider my license purcahse an investment in it’s future. It’s clear how much thought and attention has already gone into it.

High on my list is support for dragging wave files directly onto tracks. Judging from the feedback of several users, one of the biggest obstacles is how to put premade sound files onto tracks.

I have to agree. I’m not sure how many gui-less VSTs I own (most likely very few) and would welcome enhanced asset management. Just be aware that myself and probably others will eventually want ‘acidized’ clips to work (for looping/timestretching/pitch/etc.) or possibly rex/rx2 support. Currently there are third party VSTi’s that can handle this sort of funcationality, but especially in regards to acidized wav use, dropping and managing them in the host is incredibly useful.

Thanks for putting this on the list. Resizing tracks using the zoom tool and needing to scroll is one of the more awkward things about Podium that I’ve encountered.

Overall, I’m very impressed with my Podium purchase and am extremely interested in the direction it’s going.
