I have now installed ManyStation 2.2.8 and tested it in Podium. I actually made the plugin crash the very first time I ran it by closing and opening the editor two or three times. Since then I have not made it crash. The first time I ran the plugin I needed to input the serial code in the dialog popup, so I’m guessing that this could have provoked the crash. I’ve read reports on kvr for various plugins that had crash problems during authorization.
I read a post by ManyTone on kvr that the problem was fixed for you by updating to the latest ManyStation version. Is this true? If so I won’t go further with my bug-hunting.
yes, sorry i didn’t post that here immediately. i appreciate your time. i guess i had 2.2.4 and i updated to 2.2.8, that solved it. i guess they’re working on a better system to let people know about updates. i just bought and downloaded this a few weeks ago and was unaware of an update…thanks again.

i still have the same problem with 1.64. 😥

I’ve been away for a bit, but I’ve just tried Manystation2 with 1.64 and it works fine here. Probably doesn’t help you though…. 😕
Mart.
i haven’t tried 1.64 yet…i’ll see today. also, my wusik samples are on another drive, maybe that’s causing problems. just a thought.

is there any sort of crash report i can send you?
No.
I have just emailed manytone, asking if he would be interested in swapping a manystation NFR license for a Podium license.
thanks, man. not every developer is as great as you are on the support side. i have never waited more than a few hours for a response from you…not that i ever have problems with podium 8)
is there any sort of crash report i can send you?
no response from manytone.
whoa…nevermind.
i’ve been doing just alittle audio multitracking with podium until today with the quick studio setup. i just got my brain blown up by the manual device mapping stuff. cool 😯
i don’t see a demo for wusikstation 2 anymore on the wusik site. i will email the manystation developer and see if we can get you a copy or work out the bug.

Is that ManyStation 1 or 2?
I went to the Manytone site, but there doesn’t seem to be a downloadable demo version. I think ManyStation is based on the Wusikstation engine, which is available as a demo. Have you tried Wusikstation?
this is manystation 2, which i believe is based on the wusikstation 2 engine…i have not tried it, but will attempt to duplicate it now with the wusik stastion demo. wusik is version 3 now, so i don’t know if there is still a demo for 2…

Hi Stephen, and welcome to the forum.

also, podium crashes when i change the input sound driver before the output driver.
I could not reproduce this bug. Could you be more specific about how you provoke the crash?
i could not reproduce this after reboot…no bug.

Perhaps you have accidently switched on the boost in the meanwhile. Podium should react to your input as every other host.
Keep trying to get to grips with Podium! You soon will realize how flexible the engine is, and how well the interface works with one screen!
definitely…
i’m nit-picking about the onboard audio thing anyway, because i’ve got a couple of firewire units and i’ll most likely never use the ac97 junker.
i just thought it was interesting.
hmm…audacity does it too. i should have named this thread “getting to know your computer.”

unchecking the microphone boost in the windows recording mixer stops all my problems. that’s cool, but why is podium the only audio app i’ve tried with this problem? how is it different?
thanks for the help and i will keep experimenting with the program.

I had a similar problem not long ago. I am using a notebook, too. I heard all the sounds that my harddrive produced. I have a USB audio interface and of course my internal soundcard. I tried some changes in the volume application (the windows standard one; here you have to switch to the settings for recording) and then the “amplified” noise was gone.
whooo…
i changed from the mic input to the stereo mix input in the windows mixer, opened podium, started a project, turned on monitoring and she went nuttso!!!. superfeedback. again nothing plugged into the input and a silent computer, as far as the windows stereo mixer input is concerned. so strange.
@Podianer wrote:
hm… sounds weird.. 🙄
Try to disable the input mapping on your track (x). Does the feedback go away?
yes that stops it. but i don’t have anything plugged into the input…so i guess i’m confused…
okay, so i guess the meters in podium are alittle more sensitive than other apps i’ve been using. it does seem as though i am getting some audio crackling in the channel from the hard drive though, which is confusing as i have not heard this before. i’m talking -40 db or less, so i don’t know if that’s a problem or not. do you think apps gate at these levels and podium does not. also, feel free to call me crazy:)
none of this explains the buzzing tone when the project is started and the monitor is turned on, which does disappear in about thirty seconds.
