And a request (yes, one more…) : it will be VERY usefull to drag / drop the Library Presets directly on sequences. It will be very fast and easy to use and will not need any automation track, it will be a propertie of that sequence.
It was an old function in Cubase ATARI which I was using all the time (without the drag & drop, only the parameter value in the inspector).
Perhaps even with the name of the preset in one corner of the sequence ?

That’s a really good idea. Currently, on the time line at the top of the sequence edit window, you can right click and ‘insert new tempo here’. Maybe a another option to ‘insert preset change’ or, as you say, drag and drop a preset on to the timeline. That would be cool 8)

That sounds like a good solution to me.

This is already possible if you deselect the ‘auto arrange’ option in the browser edit menu.

    Ah!…I didn’t know that 🙂

Congratulations and welcome to the fold 😛
I use only Podium and energyXT – it’s a combination that does everything for me.
Re: using XT in Podium – don’t forget to create a plugin preset for it before you save your arrangement (as you should for any plugin) otherwise you’ll lose anything you’ve created in it. I think Frits is going to implement some sort of option to automate preset creation at some point though, which will help – correct me if I’m wrong Frits!
Enjoy the learning curve – It’s all very easy once you get over the initial hump

Oh well, nevermind – I might download the fl-studio demo and have a look anyway, just out of interest…

OK, I worked out how to sync transport controls between Podium and XT, though you can’t start them both recording at the same time. However that’s getting away from your question.
To keep it simple – Once you’ve inserted fl-studio onto a track with the correct midi-input mapping, I presume you can then run fl’s internal sequencer in record mode and play away. Just make sure that the Podium track isn’t record-enabled and the midi notes will pass through to fl-studio.

I must admit that I hadn’t tried recording into XT via Podium before I read your post so maybe my hurried results aren’t quite the answers you’re looking for. I don’t know how familiar you are with XT but all I did is insert XT onto a track then connect up the internal sequencer in XT, load a vsti into it then hit record (again, in the XT seq) and the midi is recorded independently of Podium. I presume you can run fl studios’ sequencer independently of Podium?
However, maybe you want it all to run in sync and that’s where the problems seem to arise.
I can’t seem to get Podium and XT to sync transport controls so I have to start recording in Podium then manually start XT – not much use 😕 –
I’m sure it must be possible to get both sequencers to sync-up – I’ll have to have another look at things.

    Cheers,

    Hi antem,

I don’t know about fl studio vsti but I can record midi notes through Podium into the energyXT sequencer.
Regarding faders in the mixer, you already have vol and pan dials but you can add automatable level and pan sliders to any track. For example: highlight the track you want to use then click on the ‘Param’ tab in the track inspector on the far left and highlight the ‘mixer’ button. Next, either drag the parameter marked ‘level’ across to the track you want, making sure it is feeding into it. Or right click on the level parameter and select
    ‘Assign to separate track’
I think it’s designed this way to keep the mixer as streamlined as possible because you only need to add faders where you need them.
I hope my answer isn’t too hard to follow 😕 🙂

PS. I’m not sure what ‘process gain’ in Cubase is…

I can’t speak on behalf of Frits – the one and only developer – But I think it’s highly unlikely that your suggestion would be taken up.
If you want a tracker I’d go for a dedicated program such as Renoise

Could we have a way to re-arrange the drummap to the left? As it is now it’s basically an inverted pianoroll with lower keys at the top and higher ones at the bottom. I like to set up my drums in their natural way i.e. kicks at the bottom, snares, hihats, toms and finally cymbals at the top. Could we have this puh…leeeze!? 😆

Indeed…I have to agree with you here. When flipping from the midi-arranger to the drum-editor it would flow better if they both worked the same way, i.e. from the bottom up.
