Can’t wait to get my fingers on this!! 😆
When will 1.88 be released?
Coming up in Podium 1.88: Sound and midi files can be dragged from external file explorers and plugin editors onto tracks.
WOW!!! 😛 😆 That’s great news!! Finally!!
Great work Frits!
Thanks!
This is on the list of features that are to be added to Podium.
As workaround: drag your object, hold the mouse-key, and press ctrl+alt. Now when using your mousewheel, the arrangement scrolls..

Download works here, but now streaming.. Sounds very interesting. What did you use the create that sound? Sounds like a distored piano.
Quite the opposite of what I put here 🙂 Nice work.

Thats my first song in Podium: http://www.ewetel.net/~waltraud.harms/Bioencoder-Der_Deutung_Willen.mp3
(Experimental-Noise-Ambient)I produced 4 years in Reason, but its not so good for my style. I will test the world of VSTs and Podium 😉
Tried to listen to your song, but it seems it is not completely uploaded on your webspace.. Its only 2 seconds long here.. 🙄

Thanks for sharing this with us Max!
What I like the most about these songs are those fast, explosive solos 😀
And as I’m trying to churn out some heavy sounds from Podium myself, I would be very interested in any production details you’d like to post!Cheers,

Thanks Jan-Erik!! 🙂
The arrangements are rather simple.
1 Track for the bass guitar which is driven by a guitar amp.. It’s a Rickenbacker Bass, so we get nearly the sound Lemmy (from Motorhead) gets 😉
Rhythm guitars are 2 tracks panned left and right. I recorded the same part two times to have a punchy and “big” guitar sound. The sound itself comes from my Boss GT8 FX pedal and is tweaked with some EQ.
The solo guitars are recorded clean and were then routed through Line6 Gearbox plugin, in order to be able to change the sound at any stage of the mixing process.
The vocals have been recorded with my Toneport UX2, and I used one of its internal amp sims to get the vocals loud and punchy.
The drums are a thouroughly chosen stereo kit from Scarbee’s Imperial Drums XL library. They are partly recorded with an eDrumset and then tweaked via the midi editor. Some songs have been created from scratch in the midi editor, using Podiums superb drum editor! 🙂 The drums got a good portion of Hydratone (fire knob) to make them sound more natural.
For the master chain I used Clas, which I can higly recommend as a master plugin! Followed by a multiband compressor and a MPL1-Pro as a limiter.
That’s it! 🙂 Finishing one song, and then saving it as a template makes things much easier, because there aren’t too many changes to make when working on the other songs. When mixing 15 songs, this is a great relief! 😉
I am proud you like my guitar work 8)

Werde demnächst wohl eine Lizens erwerben wollen
Sehr gute Entscheidung! 😉
Hi,
Podium ist wirklich genial! 😉
Dort wählst du “use preset as drum preset”.

Max
I added a flash player to my site, so you won’t have to download the whole album in order to listen to it.. Still any comments are highly appreciated! 8)
Yes it is a great feeling. I play all the guitars. Our bass player sings the songs. I can’t sing.. 😳
It is very hard to let an album go.. Espescially when you think you still can change everything, and you could still optimize the sound.. 🙂

Another short blues I recorded today.. I recently bought a new guitar. A Fender Stratocaster in Olympic White with maple neck! I love this guitar!! 🙂
Here is the song:

EDIT: I just edited the soundfile and made it a bit louder.. 🙂
Hey guys..
For those of you, who like some fast rock songs in the style of Motorhead, I have finished working on my band’s album. Its title is “Hello From Hell”..
You can download the whole album here:

I also added a playlist. The album consists of 15 songs.. including 3 ballads. I am proud that this work finally is finished.. I worked for over a year on this, with some breaks in between 😉
I would really like to know your opinion!! Have fun while listening!! 8)

P.S. If somebody wants to know about production details, I will post them here too.
I think your judgement on Frits is a little bit unfair. Frits managed to add features to Podium that took most other companies months and even years. Podium still lacks some features, but this list gets shorter with every release.. And always when people had ideas, Frits was openminded to them and soon these features (if appropriate) made it into Podium. So if you would stay and try to workaround your routing problem, perhaps you will be pleased with how Podium develops and you might see more advantages in Podium’s approach than you see now..
Just my 2 cents..
Clicking on the map, preset, param and input rows in the mixer will show a shortcut menu with all available objects. This makes it possible to manage tracks in the mixer without having to use the track inspector. The objects shown in the map shortcut menu will depend on the track type, i.e. audio outputs are only shown for master tracks and instruments are not shown for effect tracks.
Wow! This is a great feature! The mixer finally gets a really powerful tool in Podium.. Good work Frits! 8)
Not yet.. it is on the plan.. I think Frits said, I would look into this later this year..
