The ‘Device Definitions Library’ forum is now removed. I have moved all the contents to the device definition files page in the wiki. This will save me a lot of time in the future, as users themselves now can maintain and upload their definition files.
Nice 8)
Ok I’ve translated the getting started tutorial into German. Took quite a while because of the length.
Excellent! I appreciate your help.
Could you create the same “tree” for the other guides, that is used for the english version?
Done. I added a short text to the ‘sidebar’ page, with recommendations on how to create the pages. I added this to the French and Spanish guides as well.
Try again now. I had forgotten to grant the correct permissions to the ‘user’ group.
Ok, maybe I am blind and I don’t see it, but how can I change a site? Or how can I create one.. is this feature open yet?
Everyone who requested an account in this topic has been added as users to the Wiki. When I added you as users, I took the email address from your forum profiles, so please verify this address is still valid. You should have received an email with an auto-generated password. On the Wiki site there is a ‘login’ link. Once you have logged in, the ‘edit this page’ link is available.
EDIT: I could even help translating the guide to german.
That would be great, although please wait a while; I’m currently adding images to the pages.
I chose DokuWiki. The wiki site is now open. Please post comments in this topic:
It appears Podium has had this for a very long time.
+10 years , although it was only in the recent update of the guide that it was described properly (selection & clipboard):

Maybe once you have chosen a wiki, Podium users could somehow help populate it.
I hope so. I am currently experimenting with a wiki installation. Once I feel comfortable with it, I’ll give access to all registered Podium users so they can edit the contents.
Thus I bounced ALL OTHER tracks to one file. I played this file during my record session, and I still got drop outs.
As it is working currently, all audio tracks in an arrangement are streaming, even if they are muted. This is to ensure that unmuting will play the track immediately, rather than having a short pause before the disk streaming is catching up. Thus if you bounce a group of audio tracks, you are actually not reducing the disk streaming. I intend to change this so that streaming of muted audio tracks is disabled if they are muted by a parent bounce track. That way bounce tracks will also reduce disk-streaming as well as CPU usage.
Hi Stephen,
Welcome. I sent you an email in response to your purchase, but it was returned with a message that it could not be delivered. Send me an email if you have an alternative email address.
Nothing important in the email though. Just a thank you and a link to the download topic in the VIP Lounge. You should be able to find this when you are logged in.
Frits
I have a lot of minor issues on my notepad, as well as the disk-streaming issue, so remind me about this again in a month or so.
here is a simple graphical explanation of basic ripple editing….
It seems to me that what they refer to as ripple editing is how Podiums segment selection/editing is working. Deleting a segment will remove anything inside the segment and move following events back to close the gap. Using the ‘insert blank’ edit menu on a segment selection will move events forward to make room for the empty segment.
The first step to a Ripple Edit feature ?
I thought you wanted the ‘select all from cursor’ instead of a ripple edit. Tell me how you want a ripple edit to work?
Is there a chance to see this correction soon ?
I’ve added it to my notepad, but it will have to wait until after I look at optimizing disk streaming.
Is the current implementation also the cause for not being able to change the play position with a single clic in the timeline ?
They are not related.
So, is there also a chance to have an option to start / stop with double click and jump position with a single click like in all other softwares ?
I’ll consider changing it.
No idea what software was used but it’s a very good effort
It’s MediaWiki. It has a ‘powered by MediaWiki’ image at the bottom of the page.
EDIT:Just seen this one…maybe the best of the bunch.
Maybe, but it’s too expensive 😯 . The other solutions I mentioned are all open-source and free to use.
unchecking the microphone boost in the windows recording mixer stops all my problems.
I’m guessing, but it could be internal noise interference that is picked up by the microphone input circuit, even though you have no microphone connected.
