    Info:
    CPU: AMD 5900X (12 cores)
    Version: 3.3.3 x64
What Changed: Upgraded to Win 11. Arrangements worked without issue in Win 10.

I upgraded to Win 11 today. First thing I want to check is if Podium runs nicely.
    Spoiler: It doesn’t.

100% CPU usage if I have more that a handful plugins enabled.

Workaround: Setup>Preferences>Plugins>Enable plugin multiprocessing (set to disable)

Why doesn’t this work nicely? Known issue? Luckily I have a a fairly decent CPU, but these projects are not crazy. 2-3 channels with 6 plugins each + master with 5 plugins.

I have updated a lot of (not all) plugins. Even with just the updated ones enabled, the issue still presents itself.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    UPDATE

After reading more posts on here, I have updated my ASIO driver and increased the rate to 512 samples. Seems to be stable with multiprocessing enabled.

Still strange how I had it set to 32 before on Win 10 with no issues. Will see how it goes.

Is it possible that the upgrade to Windows 11 re-set some operating system parameters such that your system is no longer optimized for audio?

    Consider this: https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207355205-Optimising-Windows-for-Audio

Check that you have the latest native ASIO driver for your soundcard.

I’m running Windows 11 myself, and I don’t remember having issues when I upgraded from Windows 10. I’m using an RME BabyFace Pro with the RME native driver at a fairly high buffer size though. With lower buffer sizes the CPU usage stability gets increasingly sensitive to system performance. If disabling the multithread improves your CPU utilization, it suggests that it is the latency overhead caused by the thread scheduling that impacts the performance.

Thanks both. I’ve been doing a bit of testing and 512 isn’t horrendous.

I did update my driver. Using Yamaha Steinberg myself.

I’ll keep trying to make some optimisations and update here if I find anything substantial 🙂
