freemusicParticipantHello.
I am totally unfamiliar with this type of recording and would like to know how to get sounds out of the software using VST instruments.
I would also like to know how to step record with the virtual keyboard.
Any posts that answer these questions is appreciated.

There isn’t virtual keyboard in Podium yet

I don’t know what to say about this, it’s a too generic question. Could you be a little more specific? What was you using before Podium free?
September 11, 2010 at 19:44 #19457
freemusicParticipantI was using some an old program from 1989 that ran through my quadra 650 into a Kurzweil K1000 Rack.
I’m trying to switch to Podium and use the Kore VST for sounds.

freemusicParticipantIf you could also suggest an application that does have a built in keyboard that would be good.
Step recording while using a VST such as Kore free is what I need to do.
I looked at the application Notion3 and though it was good, suited my needs, the price was too high.
Something like that would be better. maybe later.

ZynewaveKeymasterIf it is the Native Instruments Kore player you are trying to use, you may find some tips in this video:

There are a couple of other videos on the YouTube channel that show how you can use step input of notes by clicking the piano keyboard or drum map headers in the editor. Like this video:

freemusicParticipantHello.
I’m following the video but when I get to the drop down menu that’s supposed to have the templates, none are there.
I did install the software with default settings

LiquidProj3ctParticipantWhy don’t you take a look to getting started chapter? I think you will benefit a lot from reading it.
I could teach you an alternative to use the keyboard as a midi keyboard in Podium using two external small and free programs, however I don’t have time now, when I come back if you’re interested I’ll write here how.
September 13, 2010 at 01:24 #19465
freemusicParticipantI used an alternate video and got to the point where Kore player loads but there are no sounds.
I downloaded ASIO and installed it but still no sounds.
Some setting I missed somewhere?
September 14, 2010 at 02:59 #19466
freemusicParticipantOK.
The Kore 2 player makes sounds in its stand alone form but not within Podium.

German FafianParticipantHave you selected your audio device within Podium?
It sounds a wrong set up in the program’s settings.September 14, 2010 at 06:38 #19468
LiquidProj3ctParticipantAnd I would add that you should place any wave file in the Podium timeline and try if it sounds or doesn’t. If it doesn’t sound is almost sure you’ve problems with your audio drivers.
September 14, 2010 at 15:38 #19471
freemusicParticipantI did as you requested and there is no sound from the wav audio.
Do you have any suggestions?
** I changed the Audio to Windows wave/MME and it now works. The documentation foretold that I would need the ASIO and for some reason it does not for wav.
Step recording is next if its possible.

What audio driver do you have set up in the audio preferences dialog?
September 14, 2010 at 17:31 #19473
freemusicParticipantIts ‘Windows Wave/MME drivers’
*** I also now see in the video example that the person demonstrating the software had some rhythm settings from some other source.
My getting input into the track to make sounds is still not possible for me yet.

Can you choose any ASIO drivers?
If so. Do it and try the same test.
If you installed ASIO 4all you should be able to choose that.
