I chose the ASIO drivers and no sounds come out of the software.

It should but it does not.

    That is one weird outcome!
Can you post a screen capture of your audio preferences screen?
I just can’t quite understand it yet but it is either a non functioning ASIO driver or a wrong set up in your audio card interface.
What audio card are you using? ❓

    In that pic.
It says your outs are not connected?
    What card are you using?
Are you using your PC’s default card?
Open the ASIO4all set up panel and take a capture of that.
Most probably it is something to do with the way your ASIO dirvers are configures with the PC outs.

Agreed. You probably just need to enable the outputs (toggle the power button on) in the ASIO4ALL control panel.

The problem may be the Red X but still no sound through the ASIO driver.
I also got the message “could not initialize the sound at 88200”

I then switched down to 44100 and the message went away but no sound from the ASIO driver still.

*** I have since found that the MS GS wave synthesizer needed to be turned off for the red X to vanish, but still there are no sounds.

I also found that the default sound card sometimes turns itself off. But that’s no big problem.

Make sure no other software is running that is using the audio device. It may even be worth disabling Windows sounds to make sure Windows is not using the sound device either.

I sometimes have issues running ASIO4ALL with drivers that are in use, which is why I suggest this.

Posting a screen capture of the playback tab might help, too. I’ve found I cannot get ASIO4ALL to output to my digital connections, only the good old analog connections.
