I’m sorry Frits but after test after test I don’t find it useful with tons of tracks. The dialog is ok, the problem is the way you use it.

You must select the events you want adjust their timming. While this could seems an advantage it’s far from be one, because:

    – The most of time you adjust timming of all notes (not only C# and E)
    – New users couldn’t be aware that they have to select notes before the can add swing.
    – If you have a drumtrack with lots of 1bar 4/4 clips you must adjust the timming of each one of them. And the new one.
    – You cannot edit easily adding new notes because, if you add notes to a previously cuantized clip and you undo the timming adjustment, redo – whatever – you could not remember what notes were cuantized.
    – And if you add new notes and you want those notes have the same timming that others you must quantize them after add them. But if you need to move them in time, you need undo and do again the timming adjustment.

So, please, do adjust timming dialog a real-time tool for all the track, as those small but useful MIDI realtime tools we have in Track Properties windows.

(you could keep the actual adjust timming dialog, it could be useful few times)

edit: If quantize can be used in real time it could be used too while recording, as some user requested in Podium Free Competition.

I’m a new user of the free version and can confirm this – it happened to me. Generally, I expect actions to apply to all items if none are selected. And if actions are not available for some reason, they should not disappear, but maybe appear greyed out.

I also came across a similar problem in the midi editor, where enabling “Edit only selected events” prevents you from doing any edits if nothing is selected. 🙁

Since this is my first post here: Thanks for Podium Free, Zynewave! It’s great so far. 🙂
