    Hi Frits 😀
I was playing with DiscoDSP Discovery VR3 and discovered a bug.

If you set up a 4 bar loop with some notes in it and enable Record on that track and in the transport view, it keeps on Recording the notes in the Piano roll automatically on each loop until there are hundreds of notes overlapping each other.

I tried to add a different vst in that track and it worked fine but not Discovery.

I also tried Discovery in my other hosts also to see if the same thing happened there but it didn’t.

It seems like Discovery is adding midi in on each note in the pianoroll on record.

Hope you can look into this for me 8)

When you record-enable a track, Podium will record any output from the plugin assigned on the track. That includes both MIDI note outputs, as well as parameter automation done by dragging knobs in the editor. Discovery apparently outputs the same MIDI notes that it receives from Podium. There must be an option somewhere in Discovery that can disable this behaviour.

That is what i thought also.

I will contact George about it and maybe he has an idea on how to fix this since there is no option to turn it off.

Confirmed here too. It seems the current R3 version is a bit flaky (at least with Podium anyway) – It’s the first time I’ve used it in Podium since it’s been updated to R3 and it’s caused a couple of problems. On the first occasion the Discovery GUI kept popping up everytime I pressed the spacebar to start or stop playback and on another occasion it caused Podium to crash when using the mouse to adjust the cutoff knob while recording. Earlier versions of Discovery were always fine, but it has to be said that R3 seems ok in other hosts.

    Mart.

Thank you for confirming this kingtubby, so i know that it happens on other systems aswell 🙂

I have just talked with George from DiscoDSP and they will look into it 8)

Cool 8) As I said, Discovery had always been rock solid in Podium prior to R3 so hopefully George will track down the problem.

That’s a nice feature of Discovery. IMO such an option to disable MIDI input from the VST should be there in host, not the plugin.
