i am a dedicated musician, i do not understand what this means. “could not initialize audio interface at 44100 hz sample rate.” it comes up everytime i open the program, i can not record it is very frusterating, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! Thanks, Andrew

the message is saying that Podium can’t access your sound card because it’s either not turned on or already in use by another program.

Could you tell us which kind of sound card you’re using, and how you set it up in Podium’s MIDI/Audio Interfaces options dialog (Setup menu -> MIDI/Audio Interfaces…)?

If you go to Setup -> MIDI/Audio Interfaces, then see if MIDI ouput Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth is on. If it is, turn it off.

I’m not sure if that will solve it for you, but it’s something I’ve seen come up a bit, and I think that’s the error it causes.

Basically, if you’re trying to use the same sound device that is already in use, it won’t be able to use it. If you have a music player in the background, or a game, or anything else using the sound device, Podium won’t be able to initialise it.

The information thcilnnahoj asked for might help us take it further, if what I’ve said doesn’t help you.

    Hello crayonredd,

Is the setting in your arrangement properties…

…the same as you set in Midi and Audio device preferences?

If not, change the arrangement sample rate to match.
