    Hi Frits,

suddenly all Podium versions crash on my system after presenting the splash screen. I can’t interact with the program in any way. Unfortunately I can’t remember installing any new software. I’ve tried reinstalling the msvc redistributables but this doesn’t help. My suggestions is a broken(outdated) library but I’m not really a w32-experienced guy so I don’t know for sure how stuff works here…I’m more into the penguin 8)

I’ve uploaded the (not very helpful) ms-crash log from the “send to MS”-dialog and the output from the debugger.

Tell me if I can give you some more input…both informations above seem not very helpful.

    thanks in advance!

Could be the initialization of your MIDI/audio drivers. Try deleting the Podium.ini file (remember to backup the file).

Deleting the ini file did the trick…but opening the project file crashes Podium again. Can I mail you the pod file?

    Please send the project file.

After testing your file, I found that it had been corrupted, but I don’t know how this could have happened. In the middle of some parameters labeled “CV Seq 2-CV Seq 1-28” etc. the parameter name seemed to have been overwritten with the text “Metal”. Can you remember if you were editing an object or a preset in a plugin named “Metal”?

Anyway, I replaced the “Metal” text with the proper parameter name, and the project file can now be loaded. I’m emailing you the fixed project file back, but please check that everything is ok. I’ve also made a small change in Podium so that it now reports the file to be corrupt, instead of crashing.

Please let me know if it happens again, and if so send the corrupt file.

Hmm sorry. I usually don’t use presets so I don’t look at their names.
One memory came back: I haven’t touched a project for a while so podium (it was 2.09beta7) told me that this project file uses an outdated file format (you know the rest of the dialog) while opening it. Maybe this was the problem that led to the crash. Podium didn’t crash during working on this project.
