I’ve been out of town a lot recently and heading out briefly again, so I haven’t had a chance to actually try this one yet, but a business friend who possesses very good ears and a brain mentioned this one to me. Apparently, it does true timestretching:

Anyone interested will probably get to it before I have a chance, so if you do, please post here your assessment of this plugin gadget’s worthiness. I’m quite curious. Thanks!

I’ve played around with it a few times before and it’s capable of some interesting effects typical of spectral domain type stuff.
    – though I have to admit that my understanding of the term ‘spectral domain’ is a little sketchy 🙂 –

Time stretching sounds pretty decent to me as long as it’s kept within reasonable limits – of course you can take it to extremes as well. The main thing though is that it’s a standalone app and as far as I’m aware has no plugin version.

    Hi guys,

Personally, I do not have a real use for such a in-depth time-stretching dedicated software. My need reffers to the ability to match a loop with the tempo of my song and of course, to be able to fix the little off beat playing, guitar or voice for example. That would be basically what I’d use the Time-stretch for 80% of the time.

That is why I think the implementation of it, natively, is what Podium needs. More to it, I NEED. 😉 And probably many other users.

BTW, UVI Workstation will do this matching of the tempo for loops and gives a very nice drag-and-drop option, but for some reason quite often (not always) the loop is still off beat. But that is another thing.

So, SPEAR to me is not very useful.

    All the best,
    Adi

Sorry, adimatis. My BAD. If it was said to me in the conversation then I didn’t hear it. I didn’t know it was a standalone deal. I only had time to briefly scan the page and grab it.

I may fool with it some anyway, but, same here, it’s not what we are really wanting. I’d much prefer something that sits in the host, if not native to it in the first place.
