    Hello

With all the on-going work with the tracks and such, how how is work with extended hardware control going? I.e. support for non-mackie emulation hardware control. Is it still on the board, and if so, whats the priority on this one?

When the track redesign is completed, I will return to extending the Mackie support (all the assignment buttons are still unused). After I feel the Mackie support is complete, I’ll be open to suggestions for other controllers. Have you purchased a controller yet?

No, I havent bought a controller yet. I thought it best to wait it out, before I cough up the 600+ USB that a MCU costs on ebay.

The alternative would be the so-called AlphaTrack, by Frontier Design. It’s got a motorized fader, three knobs, LCD display plus a set of other buttons. If nothing else, it saves desk space πŸ™‚

I could very well be persuaded to buy one, in case you’re thinking of adding support for it.

Edit: in case you’re looking for a beta-tester, I mean!

I have a bunch of knobs and sliders on my keyboard and a custom made midibox, which are currently mappable to any softsynth supporting a midi learn feature. It would be excellent to similarly be able to map Podium controls to any outboard midi control number. Most other DAWs have support for generic midi mapping, as besides mackie and other ‘propriety’ protocols, there are a great many different controllers that do not rely on ‘propriety’ midi implementations.

The Mackie Control support is described in the wiki guide. There is no description of how the generic support will be in the future.
