I’m having a problem when recording, where an existing event gets extended, and I record into it. If it’s empty, that’s fine since I can just split it afterwards, but sometimes there’s already notes in the object, so I end up overdubbing, even though what I really want to create a new event.

    I start record like this

During recording, the previous object gets extended and I start overdubbing, instead of creating a new object for a fresh recording.
    overdubb!

After recording, I end up with an overdub.

As far as I know, currently, there is no option to choose whether to create a new event or extend the existing one.
If you don’t want to resize the event each time to avoid the overdubbing, you can record in the same event and then split it.

iirc, there was mention about multi-takes for midi, as there already is for audio. That was quite some time ago though.
