    Greetings Everyone!

I have just pulled out the plastic card and purchased the Podium license. I really am delighted. I have been testing and using Podium all week. This software has passed every test. I remain in awe of its designer’s software skills and overall vision for his unique DAW.

    Congrats!

And don’t be discouraged when you see users on forums post all the incredible equipment they supposedly own, and the $800 mic, and the super 20-core, 3 terabyte laptop they just bought.

Oh well, hey, I’ve got an absolute ton of stuff. It tends to accumulate when you’ve been doing the whole music thing for a while. That includes some gear that’s high-end, and some gear that’s not.

In my experience, gear is the same as DAWs. You can spend a lot of money on the big brand-name, flavour-of-the-minute stuff, but you don’t have to. If you’re careful and do your homework, you can get off-brand gear that’s every bit as good as the popular stuff that everýone’s drooling over for a lot less money. My local pawn shop is my favourite place to go at the moment. The pawn shop dude usually has something interesting (including the computer I’m typing this message on). People are always chasing after the latest and greatest, selling stuff that’s perfectly good while they chase their dreams.

It’s all out there, waiting to be snapped up. You just have to save your pennies, bide your time, and keep your eye out for a bargain. You have learn how to look past brand names and price tags, and spot underlying quality. I’ll tell you something, I’ve played gigs with the very cheapest Fender Bullet Strat you can buy. I’d do it again too. Some of the one’s they’ve built over the past two or three years are good instruments.

the things I love most on podium is:

    – the design.. this DAW is a really well designed DAW…
for example Ableton in comparison looks like shit in my opinion..
I am a person that is very much influenced by the design & look of the things I am working with… And I can say I LOVE it to work with podium because it really looks so beautiful for me… and I can even change colors if I get bored… 😀

    – the compactness… podium is not taking up a lot of space but has got really ALL important features!! Even the freeware version!!! And I am really thankful for that!!

    – the simplicity… It is really simple and not really hard to learn how to do basic things… if you dont understand anything.. you can either look onto the quick daw-intern help (bottom left), look into the podium guide… (the extended one.. you can find it somewhere in the forum)… or you can ask here in the forum and probably someone will answer you!!

    – the possibilty for every producer to create his own style… what I don’t like on other DAWs is that they come up with sooo many plugins already built in… because these plugins are taking away the personal style of the producer…
But in podium… you can look up for the plugins that you personally like most and just use them 😀

    – the community… I love podium community… in this forum I could not find any idiot’s yet… and everyone is trying to help each other..
    I really like that…

THANKS ZYNEWAVE!! KEEP BEING LIKE THAT!! (and keep the great freeware version of podium available… )

I quite often recommend Podium free to people.

I don’t know too many other DAWs that let you have unlimited tracks and unlimited busses in the free/trial version.
