    I dragged a wav file into a track but the playback is speeded up. Is there a way to fix this?

    It is probably the sample rate of the file being different to the sample rate of the project. Check the sample properties and adjust the project accordingly.

    That’s exactly what it was. Thanx. Do you have any recommendations on how change the sample rate of the individual clips to match the project rate. I used Transcribe, a program for practicing music to change the sample of the clip that was causing the problem but it seems clumsy to have to use another program to do this.

    For sample rate conversion Voxengo’s r8brain does a good job and is free:

    Yes it makes more sense to convert the sample rate of the file in most cases. Any free wave editor should be fine eg Audacity. MP4 files are trickier due to Apple proprietary format.
