All I can say is WOW! I’m coming from REAPER and this recording package has everything I want! – and that’s VERY important!

I just wanted to say, I’ve only used it for 10 mins and I’m blown away at how this fits into my “vision” of a perfect Digital Audio Workstation.

    Keep up the good work!

EDIT: I’d also like to add, The tutorials are great! – Good tutorials are one thing that always draws me in!

Now off to read up and become a member of this forum!!

    Hey, Rob:

Welcome! I use Reaper, too. Podium won’t replace Reaper (for me, at least), but it’s a really good program. I especially like the spline-based editing — in fact, the whole way automation is done is great. I also like the hierarchy, the MIDI editor (though I wish it had play controls like Reaper does), and the navigator. The UI is gorgeous. It’s nowhere near as sophisticated on the routing end, and the MIDI export stuff is pretty rudimentary.

One thing that may take you awhile to get used to — it did me, anyway, is how Podium handles bounce tracks. Pay particular attention to that in the manual. I’ve been using the program about two months, so I still have a lot of learning to do. But … it’s definitely on my list of hosts that I’ll continue using.

    Glad you like it! πŸ™‚
There may not be as many users here as on the Reaper boards, but we’re glad to help if need be.

Maybe I misunderstood since I never used reaper, but if it’s as simple as I think, it can very much be done in Podium:

Just start from the Setup menu -> Editor Profiles -> Piano Roll -> Properties -> Insert new -> Toolbar -> look for Transport toolbar, insert it and customize to your liking!

Oh, this rocks — thank you so much! Yes, I really miss that transport in the MIDI editor window. Will add it tonight.

First off, hi Rob and welcome to the forum πŸ™‚

I bounce back and forth between the two. And I haven’t found a way to put Live down yet. I use Live for quick mockups because of the dead simple midi routing. It has a couple of other features I like as well. But when I’m done sketching out my stuff I render everything and come back to Reaper or Podium to finish things up.

I know routing midi, plug to plug, is coming eventually so I’m waiting patiently πŸ™‚
