    Keyboard shortcuts:
Pressing ALT and Left mouseclick anywhere in the arragement view (or midi arragement view), will set the Cursor to this position, so it’s not necessary to move the mouse up to the timeline first and then clicking the left mousebutton to set the cursor position.

Pressing RETURN in a midi arrangement window will close the window (instead of pressing Alt+F4).

In the sequence editor (I am a bit annoyed by this and this is the reason why posting this entire message at all):
I copy and paste very often existing midi notes or entire sequences in the sequence editor. To copy 5 notes, I hold SHIFT and click the left mouse button to range the notes I’d like to copy. With 5 notes selected (and no mousebutton pressed), I press CTRL (without any mouseclick), which should show me immidiate a ghost/transparent selection of where the selected notes would be placed if I click the left mouse button. I could also do more than one duplicates by simple holding CTRL and clicking several times anywhere in the sequence editor, which would place the copies anywhere I’d like.
I very often loose my selected notes, because to copy them, I need to click of any of the selected notes again after I made the selection, THEN the selection appears, THEN I need to press CTRL to paste it where I’d like to.

In the sequence editor: Make a selection of notes, press + on the Numpad Keyboard transposes the selected notes one up, pressing – on the Numpad transposes one note down. If no note is selected and + or – is pressed, all notes get transposed. In the arrangement view, when clicking a midi Sequence and pressing + or -, will transpose the entire midi track too. Maybe – each Sequence could have it’s own transpose values(?), or all Velocity values subtracted/added by amout x), as another property for Sequences (similar to Cubase)?

Holding CTRL (or ALT) and pressing the Left mousebutton on a track, will select all Sequences or audio clips used in this track.

And now something ‘crazy’ (not really important!): Get rid of the Tempo Event on the very top in the arragement view 🙂
The Tempo event could be like a normal track, it’s always there and can not be deleted. You can draw the masterspeed (e.g. 120 bpm to 140bpm) as a curve, to slowly increase the master speed. It could be possible to insert a Child to the master track and apply a ‘time effect’ like shuffling/grooving, those are basicly clips which can be resized or moved over time and could have an individual time lenght.
A Time singature could be inserted anywhere as a child track (maybe by default it’s already there with 4/4 value). As wide the Time signature’s track is, as wide is the time signature’s grid in the background. The time signature could be still rezised or moved, a new one inserted by drawing a new time signature with a pen, it’s like an empty clip with only 2 values (e.g 4/4). The Time Signature is basicly seperated from the Tempo, since it’s a child track.
This is an example of how the Time Master/Child hirachy could look like:
    >Shuffle effect clips (would effect/shuffle all midi tracks)
    >> Time Signature marker (e.g. 4/4)
    >>>MasterTiming (e.g. one big track, editable in curves over time, by default, a straight line 120BPM)
The Shuffle or Groove effect could also be inserted as a child on midi tracks, in case shuffling is wanted only for a specific sequence. Other time effects could be:
    Time Beat shuffler, instead of playing 1,2,3,4 – 5,6,7,8 (on a 4/4 beat).. it could go 2,3,1,4 – 7,8,5,6 …
Time Repeater: repeat on every x beat the midi evets y times.
I’m talking about effects similar to Dblue Glitch VST and such, but based on midi events since the timing can be adjusted. These effects shouldn’t have any high priority, I just make something up here to show some time effects that could be inserted as a child. I think the shuffler would be most important of all time effects.

Thank you very much again for your time and reading this.

You can enable MIDI transpose in the track properties. This will give you a transpose dial in the track inspector. Not per sequence though.

Thanks Zynewave, I didn’t notice the transpose in the track inspector before … uhm 🙄

Sorry that my post reads like verbal vomit, but I needed to get it out of my head since those are all Ideas from the first time I started working with Podium. At least it’s out of my head, it feels much better now 😀

In the sequence editor: Make a selection of notes, press + on the Numpad Keyboard transposes the selected notes one up, pressing – on the Numpad transposes one note down.

I try to reserve keys on the numpad for transport control. You can use Ctrl+Up/Down to transpose semitones, and Shift+Ctrl+Up/Down to transpose octaves. Using +/- (not on the numpad) will adjust attack velocity.

Fantastic! This should be under Edit or right click menu in the sequence editor. I kinda understand why it’s not, it’s way cleaner without it… Thanks for this shortcut. I should print out a shortcut keyboard table.

    Hi!

It would be realy nice if keyboard shortcuts can be customizable (like in Cubase/Nuendo or Sonar).

    Tankx.

And you could add Reaper, Tracktion, Samplitude or Audition too.
    I cannot say better…

Apart from personal preferences and habits, I am sure that this is one of the major features than could help people to be more familiarized with Podium and help them to switch from other DAWs, or at least to use them together with more efficiency.
It is of course natural that Frits proposes the ones he likes, but it is also necessary that users can set them as they like… 😉

Interesting. I think you and Nordsee have a point there. Many people do indeed have their own preferences and while I do not personally use them much (if at all) I think a very large number of people certainly do.

Some way to customize Keyboard shortcuts would very likely help people settle in quicker with Podium as they would be able to set it up in a very similar way to their existing host. 😉
