Is there a way to load two instances of the same vsti?

I want to play one Tassman 4 patch on one track and a totally different Tassman 4 patch on another track.

Is that possible in Podium? If so, how?

    Thanks

Yes. If the plugin is imported as an insert mapping, you just drag the mapping to new tracks to create new instances. If the plugin is imported as a global plugin (mappings have (#1) in their name) then you need to create additional sets of mappings for each instance you want to use. Currently the easiest way to do this is to import the plugin again, which will create mappings with (#2) etc. in their name.

For the next release I’m going to add a “Duplicate New Instance” context menu to the device list on the start page. This will make it easier to create additional instances of global plugins, mixer busses etc.

WAY too much trouble. I want to create music, not juggle software. By the time all that is set up, the musical inspiration is GONE. Not fun at all.

For now I’ll just use Phrazor or eXT until you do the below for the next release. MUCH easier and far less hassle.

EDIT: I spoke too soon. 😳 I don’t know how or why it works, but if I go to the Input mapping panel and right click on Midi In, then choose ‘ Auto Assign to focus track’, I can play two different patches from the same vsti on two different tracks.

It does work! A huge time saver! It’s like discovering a new feature 🙂 Maybe adding it as a global option would help find it easier.

I would still like to see this option in the next release though. It will certainly speed things up. 8)
