On the Podium page that shows “Contents – Arrangements, Sounds ” and “Devices – I/O Busses, Plugins” menu bars, I used to have a menu option under “Devices – I/O Busses, Plugins” for “Import Plugin“.

What could I possibly have done to make that menu option disappear?

    I’m using Podium Free – version 2.37.

That is very, very strange… :-k

Can you try to create a new project and see if it’s still missing there? If it is, you could try the “Restore default setup” option in the Setup menu (better create a backup of Podium.ini first – you can find it in the folder that opens when you select “Explore Setup Folder” from the Setup menu.

All of my projects suffer from the same problem now, old and new.

I tried restoring the default setup but it didn’t fix the problem.

Rebuilding your plug-in database doesn’t help either, I assume?

Are any other commands missing from the menu, perhaps? Here’s what the usual menu should look like: http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:project_start_page#devices_panel

Can you give an estimate of how many plug-ins you have in your projects? I don’t believe there’s an upper limit, but just in case…

I honestly can’t think of any possible cause, so you might have to be patient until Frits can check the code. 🙁

Weird. Please provide more details of what commands you do see in the menu.

No, but it does alleviate the need to bother importing plug-ins. What I was doing was just importing each plug-in as I needed it. Since those menu options are now missing, I’ve started to automatically load the plug-in database when I create a new project.

I have the following menu items:

    New folder
    Add new bus interface
    Update Audio and MIDI Mappings
    Load Plugin Database
    Rebuild and Load Plugin Database
    Update and Load Plugin Database

Once upon a time, the import plug-in menu options were there.

I even tried the repair option from the install program. No apparent effect.

I may have to delete the config file, uninstall podium and re-install it but if I can, I’d like to figure out what I’ve done so that I don’t cause this problem again.

Your menu options appear correct from what I can see on mine (except for Update ReWire Mappings, if you’re using Podium Free maybe that’s why?). Afterwards, I also have:
    – Load Plugin Setup from Template
    – Import Plugin…
    – Import Plguins from Folder…
    – Import Plugin Definition

Yes, I’m using the free version (2.3.7) which is why there is no rewire mappings.

Which is precisely my problem. My “afterwards” menu options have gone missing.

I finally broke down and re-installed Podium and removed the config directory. I doubt re-installing Podium was a factor but wiping out the config directory and starting over fresh was likely the cure.

I now have the missing menu items back but no clue what caused them to disappear.

I think I know what caused this. Your “project template library folder” in preferences was probably set to your main projects folder path.

I’ve checked the code, and I found that if the number of folders/project templates exceeds 100, the construction of the “Load Plugin Setup from Template” submenus can be skipped prematurely, causing the remaining menus to not display properly. I’ll fix that.
