I’ve just downloaded Podium and am having trouble getting sound out of my midi controller (or recording anything, for that matter). When I add a track, and press a key on my controller, I can see the green light in the bottom right of Podium light up, indicating there is a midi input signal received. However, I cannot get any sound to come out of the program. Nor can I record anything.

I am using the Xpand!2 plugin, and am pretty sure it’s installed correctly. I tired using the TAL Noisemaker plugin as well and am having the same issue. I followed the Podium set up guide and set up the audio/midi options as described (but of course may have missed something).

When I double click on the track and pull up the on screen keyboard, pressing the keys does produce a sound through my headphones. Although oddly, it does not record my input in the measures shown on the on screen keyboard either.

What am I missing here to be able to use the midi controller?

Have you assigned a midi input on the track header? There is a track input selector where you choose either an audio or midi input.
