I connected my midi keyboard (m-audio oxygen25 3rd gen) to my computer via usb. I created a new project and added a new channel. I selected MIDI In as input and a VST plugin (tried several).

Now when I hit the keys I hear the sound and everything seems fine. But as soon as I start playback, the midi signal gets lost after two seconds and remains lost. Switching the keyboard off and on has no effect. Need to restart Podium to get the signal back.

I used MIDI-OX to check whether the computer still receives the midi signal and it does. However, Podium looses the signal everytime I start playback.

    Help really appreciated!

If you look at the MIDI indicator in the Podium transport toolbar, does this also become unresponsive after two seconds of playback?

Do you have other MIDI inputs that you can try?

If it is the MIDI driver that gets disconnected, then you can restart it by opening the Audio/MIDI dialog and press ok. No need to restart Podium.

Also check that you don’t have other applications running that use the MIDI ports. If you have MIDI-OX open when running Podium there may be a conflict if they both try to open the MIDI driver.

Thanks for taking the time to answer!

First, the good news: everything works fine on my old laptop which runs Windows 7 (32 bit). Playing the MIDI keyboard while playback runs as well as recording.

The issue described above occurs on my desktop computer which runs Windows 10 (64 bit). Here are the answers to your questions:

    1. Yes, the MIDI indicator also becomes unresponsive.
    2. No, unfortunately, this is my only MIDI input device.
    3. Pressing OK in Audio/MIDI dialog does not bring it back, so it is probably not the MIDI driver.
    4. Retested without any other application running that accesses MIDI ports, does not help.
    5. FYI: I realized that the signal does not get lost when playback is not longer than about a second. It gets lost if the playback runs longer than that.
