    Hello,

I have noticed with many programs that I have tested lately (Reaper, energyXT, Podium, etc.) that when I am demoing a MIDI file, there is often a bit of a lag between the time I click the Play button to the time the file actually begins to play.

The other situation is when you click the stop button. Very often the MIDI file continues to sound – what I would refer to as either “feedback” or “bleeding”. This never happens in Cubase SX V3 – unless the system crashes and the output “locks up”. At this point I would press the “kill” switch on my external MIDI device.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

What would you estimate is the duration of this lag?

Are you routing the audio output of your external MIDI device into the Podium mixer? If so, then the lag you experience could be latency compensation. Click the “Latency” button in the mixer to verify the latency for each track.
