I wanted to move several arrangements to a new Project. I have copied the audio folders to the new Projects directory. I have Imported the Project via the Arrangements & Sounds menu. I now have duplicate device definitions. If I delete the device definitions imported with the Project File, it removes the device from all tracks associated with the Project File.

I understand the logic, as the device definitions are married to some unique id and not the name of the device assigned upon creation. I was hoping there was a way I could point the track effect to a different device definition without having to save the current state as a preset, delete the effect, re-assign the effect using the different device definition, and selecting the just saved preset.

    Thanks for your consideration.

The “Import File” command in the Arrangements & Sounds menu is intended for importing media files such as audio and midi files. Importing a whole project into another project is not recommended, for the reasons you mention. For that purpose, you should use the “Merge Project” command in the Projects menu. That command will join the device definitions of the two projects, so you don’t end up with duplicates.

Thank you for your kind reminder regarding Project Merge. I now remember discussion of this feature. I am still learning about much of functionality in Podium. As always, you prompt response and courtesy is appreciated.
