Though I’m not a regular gamer anymore, I could not let Final Fantasy just pass by me! And so I’m captive on Gran Pulse at the moment.
As FF fans will know, music has always been one of its many strong points. (It went a little under in XII, in my opinion – the game was great, and the music fit in just fine, but is nothing special on its own.)
Now, the 13th installment is scored by Mr. Masashi Hamauzu, who did fantastic work, and I personally wouldn’t mind him becoming the new regular composer for the series (provided it’ll continue).
One example is this piece, Atonement, which I’m very touched by – not only because I lack the musical knowledge/ability to create such works myself. 😉
Even if you’ve never heard of the series before, it’s worth a listen!
