    I think the ‘velocity meter’ view in the Note Editor could be improved if, instead of having the width of each note governed by it’s duration, you instead display ‘stems’ at the ‘Note On’ point of each event. Whilst I’m sure it’s useful to have the duration in the velocity view, it’s essentially redundant information because it’s already visible in the keyboard view above it. It also makes velocity editing a bit fiddly sometimes – imagine you have a pattern that consists of one long note, with other, shorter, notes being played simultaneously. It’s a bit of a pain to select the shorter notes because the long note fills the entire view.

    I think most other sequencers use the ‘stem’ notation, I know Reason, EnergyXT and Tracktion certainly do, and I think it would make sense to go down this route.

    Yes, good point. This has also been nagging me frequently. I’ll probably change the edit behaviour. I will probably keep the painting of the bars sized to note lengths, as I think it helps to associate/identify the note that you are editing the velocity for.
