Is there a way (other than to copy the track ) to have one MIDI track trigger two VST instruments simultaneously? I thought I could just make one a child of the other, but that doens’t seem to work.

    No.

If you use two tracks, remember to copy the sequencs events as phantom events. That way you only have to edit the notes on one of the tracks, and it will automatically be applied on the second track.

I made a track template where you can play upto 4 different vst’s at the same time 😀

    Here is the link.

OK, cool, thanks for the quick reply!

    – thanks for the template, unfortunately I’m using an old version of Podium and can’t open it 😳 (what can I say, it’s never broke, so I never fix it!). When I finally get brave enough to upgrade, I’ll check it out for sure.

Hey, DFusion! I caught notice of the thread you made in the VIP Lounge, but it disappeared (?) before I could download your template file. 😕

Now that I got a look, I’m interested in how you got that set up! I mean, it’s kind of buggy behaviour to have an input on multiple tracks, isn’t it?

I used a trick to set it up 😀

1.st i made a Group Track and added “Midi in” in the track i added in the group and saved it as a track template.

Then i just added that track template into Podium and added “Midi in” in a track outside of that Template so i had 2 Midi ins.

After i did that i added that track into the Group track and saved it again as a track template.

So i guess it must be a bug but a positive One 8)

    Thanks!

I didn’t try yet as my keyboard’s stashed away, but if it really works without hitch maybe it could become a normal feature. At least, I can imagine a few uses for it.

I didn’t delete the topic, so I assume it is DFusion that deleted it himself?

I have noticed that there are some situations where you can end up with multiple tracks having the same MIDI input object assigned. Copy/paste of a track is another way. There should be no buggy behaviour in having the same MIDI input assigned to multiple tracks. It’s just in the UI that I have implemented the restriction so that assigning/dragging an input object will remove it from the track it is already assigned to. In most cases I think this is what you would expect. In the future I may add a command for assigning an input without removing it from it’s current track.

Yes i deleted it to put it in here instead so that those who are looking for a new music program knows that it is possible to do in Podium 😀

I think that this is a great Feature and i would love to be able to assign multiple midi ins directly like you mentioned Frits 😉

    +100.
Yeah, it would be extremely useful for quick sound stacking. Sometimes I like just jamming along with some fat layers with key split zones.
